The app I’ve been waiting for 🤩

My husband is Samoan and we want to raise our kids speaking the language. I’ve been trying to learn Samoan for 4 years and haven’t made much progress with any of the apps or books I’ve been using. I stumbled on this app a few days ago and I’m already making more progress with this app than I have any other way trying to learn. It’s a very easy and engaging format and is making it much easier to learn. I look forward to each lesson every day.

It is so hard to work with

So first of all, you sonions, listen up, it’s very good, you can learn about anything. Just HERES the thing, you have a certain amount of lives, 6. If you fail 6 times on one lesson, you cannot restart, you have to wait till the next day unless you pay for more or doma free trial. In your first lesson, it doesn’t show you anything, it just hits you with “hello.” I’m talking on the Māori one but it’s the same with every single one, so if you don’t know ANY of that language (I do know some,) then you cannot learn it without guessing if you don’t wanna serah it up on everywhere, THE FIRST LESSON BY THE WAY, so it’s very hard to work with and very irritating, FIX THIS OR AT LEAST TELL IT IN THE DESCRIPTION NOT FOR BEGINNERS!

It had a good start but it goes way too fast, the jump from the first lesson to the second was crazy. If you could start with simple words or phrases first and gradually excell then I’d download again.

Bug

I can go to next level because there’s no right answer on the 3rd lesson for “haere ra” even though I’m pushing the right answer but it keeps saying in correct then saying the answer which is the same answer I am pushing I’ve purchased a monthly subscription and can’t move past this stage

Suggestion

This is a really lovely app! I love using this app to learn more of the Tongan language.

May I suggest adding a little test or quiz at the end of each unit to test our knowledge on everything we learned?

Great for us American Tongans

I was born and raised in America and I’m 100% Tongan. Unfortunately i did not learn the language growing up and now after using the app for a few weeks I’m loving it and using some of my lessons in real life. It’s great for us Tongans who don’t know the language but are proud to be Tongan and sad to not speak our language. The app has some issues in some pronunciations and sometimes it kicks me out between uses but otherwise it’s a great tool. I’m happy something like this is available!

I bought 10 lives and when I went into a lesson my lives had disappeared

Lives disappearing

After purchasing more lives they had disappeared once I ended a lesson(I had over 100+ lives left) and said I had to purchase more to do the lesson again. Idk if it’s a bug or if that’s how the app works

Hearts and lesson fix?

So I had bought hearts to go through the lessons, when I finished my 1st lesson I expected to move to lesson 2 with my remaining hearts. However my hearts went to 0 and the following lesson was still locked. I do like the app and I can take an $12 hit but it’s just disappointing that this happened. Will come back tomorrow to see if lesson two opens up.

Bought lives but they disappeared

This is really great if you are wanting to touch up on your Te Reo however, I bought lives (10) and then they suddenly disappeared when I progressed to the next level and when I tried to go to the next level it was saying I needed lives even though I bought some, I’m unsure if it’s a bug but if you buy lives it shouldnt disappear when you progress.

Great learning app

Great app but very formal in translation back between Tongan and English.
Recommend to learn how to read and write but definitely recommended to practice with Tongan speakers to communicate more naturally.
