Our daycare just switched from Procare to Asilo and I have to say I’m not a fan at all. It’s like the app developers have never actually worked in a childcare setting or ever had children in daycare. There is way too much emphasis on graphics and trying to be “cute” but I really just want a simple interface that tells me important details about my child’s day, not a smiling panda with smells coming out of its butt to communicate that my child had a bowel movement.
There is no option for teachers to add notes or free text along with the feeding, nap, and bathroom events when logged which means I’m getting far less information than I did previously with Procare. Occasional mood updates with emojis are just silly and not helpful for babies, to be honest.
Procare had a “drop off notes” feature that I used religiously to document my baby’s wake up time, last meal and last diaper change before drop-off to facilitate a smooth and consistent transition in care from home to school. There is no similar option in Asilo, which is really too bad and something that I know parents and teachers want. This mostly just applies to babies but it’s so important at that age!
Our daycare was apparently recently purchased by the app developers so was of course forced to make the switch to Asilo. To the developers/new owners - do better for your parent users! I’m sure I’m not the only one with feedback that I would love to see incorporated in a future app update.

This app is easy to use, well organized and keeps everything in one convenient place. Updates announcements and daily information are clear and accessible, making school communication simple, and efficient. Does not work
I’ve been trying to access this app for months now on my phone and all I’m getting is nothing, blank page or it’s telling me I’m not connected to the school. How am I supposed to pay for my child when the school uses this app. The tries to help but still nothing to this day.

Disappointed
I wanted to register with a daycare and couldn’t. I called the daycare and they said the app and all the system is having problems. People can’t register and parents can’t check in at the daycare. Wow. That’s a big red flag for the company.
Mostly fine
App does most of what it needs to do but is missing key features like a proper messaging system. My only real complaint is that when adding a comment to a photo, the screen doesn’t scroll with the keyboard so you can’t see what you’re typing until you actually send it. Frustrating. Yo, developers, put that screen in a ScrollView! It ain’t hard! 🤦♂️. Fix that and I’d bump it up a star, maybe two. What it does do great is photo quality; for some reason each daycare that used brightwheel the photo quality is terrible, but Asilo’s is top notch. Would love the ability to save photos of our kiddo rather than asking the teacher for a copy but that’s a minor complaint.

Terrible App
This app has a long way to go. A calendar/events feature that allows us to add events to our calendar from the app would be great. So many announcements come in through schoolbox or the very full feed which is impossible to keep organized. Missed so many of my children’s memorable events because this.

Incredible for schools and families
This app has evolved so much and is amazing for schools!!! As a parent, I love to see the daily reports, lesson plans from teachers, and pay tuition in one place!!
Needs major improvements
This app is less than user friendly, and it does not work half the time. It would be nice to be able to message the teacher or staff at the school through the app also as someone had said. Also, several documents that are only available in the lobby would be great to have under a files tab in the app for easy access. For example: Events, menu, uniform order forms, activity sign up for children and parents. I only have one other preschool app to compare it too and it doesn’t compare at all. 1/10 versus 9/10 at the other school. Prodigy should consider hiring better developers or using an app already in existence that has a better track record.

Amazing for operating a school!!
There are so many incredible features on here. Best all inclusive app for running a school! I’ve tried Remini and Playground and this is by far the best!!
Needs improvement
The layout is pretty good. It would be helpful to customize specific notifications within the app. There is also a delay at times. I wish there was a “contact office/teacher” messaging center but that’s not a necessity. There should be a way for us to save our child’s photo but instead I have to screenshot each time and crop which is time consuming and frustrating. I’m not sure if there is only a “wet diaper” or “bowel movement” option when notifying about diaper changes but there should be one that includes both.

Not usable at all
Been forced to switch to this app from Procare. Now my phone never stops getting notifications from the app which aren’t related to my kid. The feed is always flooded with pics of some random classes and children which I am not ok as well.
Needs Improvement
Being able to toggle between being able to see the entire’s updates and my child’s updates are very important. Having the entire screen in one screen only is not ideal because finding updates for my child is nearly impossible. Missing Procare.
Glitchy
One of the glitchiest and poorly built apps on my phone. A new update every day that you are forced to go to the App Store and download, just to go back to the newly updated app and it’s unable to load a single post.
Not Updating.
For the last three days I haven’t been trying to receive updated information on my daughter in her prek-2 class and the app has been down. I tried to contact the company via their website (which also isn’t updating) and have yet to hear a response. I can understand a full day of services being out, but three full school days is unacceptable.
