One of the worst apps a company could ever put out.
Cumbersome
One of the most cumbersome apps, compared with Arri, Nanlite and Aputure Astera is definitely the worst

This app is actually almost unusable and often literally unusable due to the app crashing on multiple different devices. App uses an INSANE amount of battery life when doing nothing phone or tablet quickly heat up literally more than any app I have. There are also bugs where connection drops out when very near or info displayed for fixture status is inaccurate or won’t update.

App is okay, but eats phone battery fast.

Eigentlich ein gute idee aber leider im professionellen Einsatz nicht zu gebrauchen da sehr unzuverlässig. App friert dauernd ein oder sucht nach der Blutoothverdindung. Wir haben es mit verschiedenen Geräten (iPads, iPhones) probiert. Lässt sich leider auch nicht über die usb Buchse verbinden (nur zum Laden).
Das hört man auch von anderen Usern. Bitte liebe Entwickler*innen guckt doch mal ob das nicht besser geht.

Full of features but frustrating
Firmware updates are a nightmare with the app and the quick disconnect between the app and the bluetooth bridge really create a headache
What did you do
Used to be great, now the app interface to devices is so laggy and battery readout very slow to update. Never had an issue with the app and ax3 when I first bought the devices now it’s hard work
What a joke
I create targets for my lights for previewing before the CRMX controller moves over and the app throws the lights into random groups on it meaning I now how to spend more time fixing the errors the app made instead of just doing what it told. DO NOT USE unless you are desperate
Really? Leading lighting company create such a bad app?
It’s bananas how hard it is to actually connect a Nyx bulb to this app. Nothing about this app makes sense - from the awkward, dated UI to an extremely frustrating blue tooth experience.
Wastes so much time, not user friendly
I hate this app with a passion, so un-intuitive, un-user friendly and overall bad. Wasted so much time on set & kept disconnecting from my tube light

It’s bad apps like this that cause people to switch to inferior lights that at least can be controlled by a well designed app. Astera better catch up or they’ll be left in the dust.

Terribly Designed App
Given the cost of Astera lights, it’s astounding how terribly designed this app is. Not intuitive at all, and requires all kinds of wacky workarounds to achieve simple tasks like removing the amount of lights in a group. Really baffling how terrible this app is after spending several thousands of dollars on their lights.

Disconnects reliably.
Addressinng will take twice as long as expected because the app will simply disconnect from the astera box every 5 minutes, and the only reliable way to reconnect is to forget the device and pair again. (it’s best to have that written down on you at all times) At best Ive had to do this once every 15 minutes, at worst every 5 minutes. Do NOT lock your phone while using the app.

Awful app
This app is a waste of time. The only thing it is good at is making your job harder. Filled with bugs and intermittent connection problems. Address and configure your fixtures manually cause this ain’t it.

Ich stelle an der Lampe CRMX & DMX bei Input ein die Bridge findet die Lampen, aber in der Übersicht sagen die Lampen Nich Verbunden, obwohl ich sie über die 💡 identifizieren k.ann.

Designed by people who have no clue what lighting people need. Convoluted app with an atrocious, criptic interface which works sometimes and other times not. Somewhat related, pairing to Titan tubes using Asterabox can be easy or an abject failure. Solution?… try the exact same thing five more times… then maybe it will work?

Hardly works
This app isn’t great and is very frustrating. Take forever to connect with the lights and will disconnect from the wireless box randomly. Nothing seems to keep it connected enough to actually update or control the lights.
