Being able to control my hoop from my phone is seriously a game changer!! I always have my phone on me anyways. It makes using multiple astral hoops a breeze without having to use the joystick!!! Those pattern packs are also amazing and fun to play with.

Tried to update firmware broke my hoop
Only blinks a flashing orange light even after trying to update it from their help email. In my opinion this app need a better way to reset the hoop in situations like this without having to get the hoop repaired by the company very disappointed

Sorry to hear about the problems with your hoop. It sounds like a firmware update failed. We've made some changes to the firmware update process since your review to make it more reliable. However, if anyone else reading this encounters a problem with the firmware not running and the hoop only blinking the orange board light, the fix is simple. Needs work
It’s nice being able to access some of the features of the astral in a more intuitive interface than their joystick, but this app needs a lot of work. I would love some advanced features like being able to time pattern changes to music but that seems very far away when you look at how broken the app is in terms of basics. for example 1. Why not show battery power and brightness in the app? 2. the app doesn’t save your hoop ID so every time you launch it you have to look at your hoop for the id, enter it and then Reconnect. 3. the designer feature seems to be completely broken — it’s unclear how to get designs into specific slots in memory, or how to upload images bigger than about 10 pixels because it always seems to crash. 4. It’s not clear what all the controls on the “control atomic” page does. Looking forward to fixes, though!
