Does not work in china, I was trying to have a 7 day free trail to see how was the performance never received the sms and impossible to resend one so eventually I paid for a 1month trial and it is trash it does not even connect it does not work and I wasted 34 euros

Unreliable
I’m in China, so I need a VPN all the time. When Astrill works, it works. When it doesn’t, it doesn’t. No recognizable pattern to when it will or won’t.

There is no ping test and speed test, as in the Mac version of the app. So it is hard to tell which server is available. It is sometimes very frustrating not be able to find one working. And the server list is different between the Mac and the iOS version
Great service, terrible app
This VPN works when others don’t and is a great VPN service. However, the app is clunky, outdated, and lacks features (eg speed test) and settings (eg site filtering) that the desktop app has. Additionally, the VPN regularly gets “stuck” on and can’t be turned off either in the app or the iOS VPN screen. The only way to get it off when this happens is to turn off data and WiFi, then it’ll give an error that turns the VPN off.
Given how expensive the VPN service is, I expect a better app.

It doesn’t work properly and I they know it.
We’ve used Astrill since 2019 but this will probably be our last year with it. Pre-Covid it was fairly strong and reliable. Since 2022 it has increasingly dropped in quality. Some days it’s about as good a third-party, free vpn off of the Mac store, just with an annual subscription fee. What’s worse is I get the impression the support service isn’t really looking to deal with their customers or problems in general. Everything has gone down, bar the price tag. It’s a shame because it was easily one of the best VPNs at one point. What happened? The owners of Astrill must surely know it is not optimized and doesn’t work properly. Shameful.

It is really slow.
I downloaded this VPN, thinking that I will have the stealthVPN and kill switch feature. I payed 45 CAD for this piece of trash. It doesn’t even have these 2 features on IOS. And it said it allowed “5 devices” But it only allowed one at the time, maybe I read it wrong. But, the VPN could only allow 1 device at the time, for me at least. The VPN is just really slow it takes 10 whole minutes just to upload pictures on Discord and then it doesn’t even upload it. Same with Youtube, it just keeps getting stuck. I really had high expectations for Astrill.

very disappointed
I’ve used this VPN for 7 years. Why is there no auto-renewal/renewal option on iOS? You recently shut down Alipay, which has left me unable to continue purchasing and using the service.

THE vpn for China
Pretty much the only VPN that works consistently in China. The UI is extremely simple but don’t be fooled by that.
It can have inconsistencies but oh well, such is life in using a VPN in China.
4 stars because the price is really expensive, 30 USD per month and more if you want the VIP package.

Critical need
Self-explanatory. Pay the extra few bucks and get service. I’ve tried them all but they have a dedicated IP or two or a few just for you. When you a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y need service.
