Terrible controls
The Lag on the left right controls is terrible. Anyone thinking of purchasing this has been warned. How the developers this think is acceptable and done nothing about it is criminal.
Good simple fun.
The game is seemingly an accurate replica of the original 1980’s electronic game, it is a fun space shooter, quite enjoyable. I like it.

Can’t afford to buy one of these on eBay so this is the next best thing. Makes me feel 11 years old again. Love it and thank you for creating.
Very Evocative Rendering of a Family Favourite
This re-creation is pretty much spot on for both the look and sound. Anyone who used one in the 80s (as I did playing against my two sons) will be instantly taken back. It’s a shame the slider control (for L/R movement) couldn’t have been made a bit more positive. In the throes of battle you tend to lose your positioning of whichever digit you use. Maybe a responsive area for that specific control that covers a larger area). That said, it’s worth the price just for the nostalgia value.

Appalling - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Absolutely appalling effort to reproduce a classic. The fact they are charging for this pile of crap is a crime. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Brought back so many good memories, the noise, the graphics but the constant crashing really takes the shine off😕

It’s Astro Wars and it’s Xmas as a kid . Does what it says. It rocks. If you know, you know then buy it.

Doesn’t work. The original was more playable than this trash. Controls don’t work and won’t go passed the first level. I want my money back!

This is such a great find! I have been playing this all afternoon lol 😜 Takes me back to when i was a kid, loved it then too! Its as close to the original game as you can ever get. I still play my 80’s astro wars tabletop game, but this is great for on the go! If you're a big 80’s kid like me 😉👌 top marks for this app!

Not working
What am I paying money for it’s a black screen with nothing and why ask for a review before I even get to try. Not a good time to ask!

I see you are having issues with this app. Your problem seems unique as no one has had this before. It would be more helpful if you contacted me about this instead of sending me a message via a review. I have a quick turn around for crash bugs when I am told about them. Good memories, controls a bit unresponsive
It’s a tough challenge to redo the controls for a touch screen. Sometimes it goes left hen I want it to go right; maybe it’s just my chubby fingers. Ok, in any case it’s still one of my favourite games on my phone.

Perfect recreation.
It was a Sunday afternoon many many moons ago that I sat on the toilet and beat this game back when it was a large plastic console. That day I realized two things. 1, it WAS possible to win at video games. 2, sitting on the loo for too long hindered your ability to stand and walk.
Still beat the game though and would carry on to beat it in its 3 difficulty settings in the future, many times.
And so here we are again, Sunday afternoon on the toilet, playing my childhood favorite game of all time faithfully recreated and utterly playable. On the iPhone 12 it’s a little cramped due to lack of screen real estate, however on my shiny new iPad Pro (other iPads are available) this game is a nostalgia feast. It looks the same, sounds the same, the controls are a smidge laggy but you learn to compensate. You can only shoot once till that dot has gone off the top of the screen or it has hit an alien invader. So plenty of time to move.
And on the pro is about the same size as the original. Which is good as these old eyes need the larger images.
I have learned of many things that can cause temporary paralysis of the legs from the terrible toilet seat, shampoo bottles, Reddit etc. But none can give the joy of this awesome trip down memory lane.
I look forward to many hours of play. But not on the toilet!
