Shortcuts and esc key does not work on the remote host

I use esc key a lot when I’m coding and the app just exit when I hit esc. Some productivity shortcuts don’t work, like switching apps on Mac. Other than that the app works great.

未完成

完全クリーンな何も入れていないMac OS Tahoe26.5.1でテスト。iOS側からのログインはできるがキーボードが効かないことがあり、家の環境でもキーボードが効かない場合が発生したので消しました😡

Want to love it

When this app works it’s great! But the connection drops all the time, like if I switch to the Notes app for 15 seconds to check something I’ll have to reconnect to my computer. Sometimes it’ll even force me to log back in to my account. Really frustrating experience for multitasking.

Great way to watch over my AI remotely from my iPhone

Got an old Mac mini running a local AI agent doing some monitoring of websites for me for changes. This tool helps me not have to keep a monitor on and I can peek in and control the Mac mini with my other laptop or even my iphone or iPad. Very cool stuff

Wish the connection was better

I feel like I need to reconnect to my machine if I leave the app for more than like 5 seconds. If I try and check another tool on iOS or iPadOS I have to wait for it to connect again.

I no longer wish I had a laptop! Allows me to use my iPad to run my desktop

I’m so grateful that this finally exists. I’ve long had an iPad and a Mac desktop and have been annoyed every time I needed to work on something serious away from my desk. I didn’t want to buy a laptop just for those situations. I’m so happy to be able to now use my iPad like a powerful laptop with this app! One bug I do wish they would fix is the tendency for Workbench to lock up when I am copy/pasting. When this happens I just exit it and reopen it on my iPad, and then I can paste, but it’s a tad annoying.

Surprisingly amazing

This guy killed TeamViewer

Connection Issues

The concept is good and this is the simplest and nicest to use Remote Desktop apps (when it works). The problem is that 40% of the times, it just doesn’t work. It keeps saying it’s connecting, but it never does. Other Remote Desktop apps just work, under the same circumstances.

Nice Apple Native experience

When this app works, it’s great. I’m constantly being signed out, signing back in, and then reopening the app to try it all again. When the app suddenly decides to let me in and access remote computers, it’s great. That’s not happening consistently enough to justify paying for this app.

Steady Improvement

Latest version solved all the random connection failures I was facing. Very impressed and hope to see the quality continuing to trend upwards.

Amazing!

Works beautifully, I can use Blender from my iPad and it’s actually usable to the point I forget it’s a remote connection! One request though, I’d love it if there were an option to disable the esc key on a hardware keyboard from closing the connection.

First thoughts

Works really well, screen res perfect on all devices from phone to iPad scaled perfectly! It’s easy to setup and get going, would be nice to select input type on the phone version and be able to move the mic/keyboard shortcuts as they can get in the way but this is only on iPhone on the iPad it’s perfect!

Perfect

I love absolutely every single aspect about this app. It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for for many years. It’s fast, it seamless. Unified display is a game changer. The only thing I wish it had was a different app icon lol, it just does not fit my home screen haha! Maybe multiple icon options for the people who pay!

Alpha Quality - Constantly Crashes

I expected a much more stable product from their company. I have two MBP laptops running Astropad Workbench and both of them crash after 10-15 minutes of usage constantly. Luckily I have talescale and can ssh into each of the machines and kill the Astropad workbench process and restart it fromCLI and I can then connect for another 10-15 minutes… this is with the paid version - not free for 20 minutes either

Worth it

Works well - ability to connect to my sleeping dual monitor Mac system over iPad using cellular data connection! iPad trackpad and screen work well with little latency. Easy integration and setup worth the price

Perfect Use Case

I can now travel anywhere, anytime, anyplace and access my Mac! How cool is that! I remember having the first Luna Display adaptor and now seeing how far the team has come has been a fun journey to partake in. Glad the team build something SIMPLE, EASY TO USE, and backs it with great Customer Service!

Post Subscription Errors

App worked amazingly on my iPhone so I decided to subscribe to continue using on iPhone and iPad, and now I can’t get a connection established to my MacStudio, even though it is showing online. There is no error message or trouble shooting steps for me to reset the connection so I am essentially dead in the water until I can get all devices in the same room.

Nice Apple Native experience

Been using this for a little while as a replacement for Screens 5, and so far the experience is better. Smoother snappier connections to my macs and really simple setup are great. Seems to play nice with Tailscale. Lack of Windows support is a minor bummer but I’ll survive.

Great, but needs sign-in rework

Workbench replaced Screens 5 for me and it’s been an easy transition. Ease of use is better overall and performance also better. But the app is constantly signing me out and I HATE email verification. So devs, please fix this: let me stay signed in if I want, and give me SMS verification option, or Face ID if present.
