Save doesn’t work

When I try to press save on iPhone 13 Pro nothing at all happens even when I tested it on an extremely basic image with no editing

Response from developer

Sorry about this. Please try updating to version 1.2.5 and also check you have granted permission to add to your Photos Library. (I'm not seeing any crash reports for an issue like this - so struggling to debug. I regularly test on an IP13 Pro so fairly sure it's not a device specific issue).

Using for super resolution?

I love the app. Even though, admittedly, I haven’t really used it for astrophotography. Despite that, it is still one of the most interesting (camera) apps I have ever used.

It does noise reduction for “regular” photography great. I just wish it had the ability to get scaled (12mp to +48mp) up before or after stacking.

I also understand that this app is for astrophotography, so I wouldn’t be surprised if experimental “super resolution” wouldn’t be the first thing to implement. But I would like to ask anyways, as no other app I have ever seen can do anything like this one.

Either way, I love the app.

5 stars!

Passez votre chemin, l’appli ne fonctionne pas du tout.

Response from developer

Je vous prie de m'excuser pour cela. Veuillez essayer de mettre à jour vers la version 1.2.5.

Can’t use the new AstroShader

Used to take T-CrB (mag 12) nova everyday, while weather permits in the past more than a year. Ever since after version update, since late June., the updated app can not produce good enough picture. Can you provide the older version such as the 1.0.38, the version just before the v1.2.0, so that I can continue to picture the T-CrB. Thank you.

I can’t take clear pictures of the planets anymore, yet it still works a bit

I used to be able to take good clear shots of all the planets with this app such as Jupiter and Saturn. Nowadays, whenever I try to do Saturn again in the morning, it would often appear very blurry no matter how hard I try to change the settings in the app. But it would work for some of the other planets such as Mars, Neptune, and Uranus. Sometimes even Venus too. I’m curious if there is a specific setting besides changing the ISO and exposure time to make them clear again or if there needs to be some additional update to compensate for this problem. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do because I want to take clear photos of the planets with my telescope like I once did before. Thank you so much for your understanding. And please fix it to make it the same good old version again. I beg you developers, please!

There was an issue with v1.2.0 affecting alignment v1.2.1 has resolved this!

Love it

Great app

Makes Astrophotography iOS friendly

You couldn’t shoot the stars on iPhone before but this app has changed it now. Best app out there.

Doesn’t stack

I tried for an hour to image M13 with this software. I tried different amounts of exposures, exposure times, iso, and stacking methods. Every single time I tried imaging all I got were long stretchy blobs and star streaks. I could clearly see a good image during the capturing process but as soon as the post processing begins it just turns in to streaky nonsense. The app doesn’t even have app support to contact someone for help.

0/5 stars.

1 Year later…

It’s been 1 year since I used this app, and my experience was overall amazing. There has been some bugs, but these new updates are getting increasingly better. I love to see this getting updated more, and I hope the developer keeps making this better. I have gotten some amazing pictures from AstroShader, and I will continue to use this app. Definitely 5 stars!

An Embarrassing Shutter Sound Keeps Blasting the Entire Time You Shoot

Manual focus is available, so it works fine even on an iPhone 17, where the standard camera often struggles to focus on stars. The app also makes it easy to adjust the look of the image after shooting, so with this app, it is definitely possible to create beautiful night sky photos on a phone.

However, the biggest problem completely ruins the experience: the shutter sound keeps going the entire time until the shooting session is finished. For example, if you set it to take 100 shots at 10 seconds each, the sound continues for 1,000 seconds, or about 17 minutes. It feels incredibly embarrassing and almost endless. I even tried covering the speaker with tape to make it quieter, but that was almost useless. If this sound kept coming from a neighbor’s balcony in the middle of the night, it would definitely seem suspicious.

I strongly urge the Mr.developer to fix this problem.

My opinion 😍

"The future of photography isn't about the size of the sensor, but the power of the processing. I want AstroShader to bridge the gap between a smartphone and a DSLR through Advanced Computational Stacking and AI-based Noise Reduction, making high-end astrophotography accessible to everyone."

Update

The last update broke the app for me, all the pictures I take are just completely black, no matter how much light is in the picture. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Can you fix it?

It keeps crashing

Awesome, powerful; useless

Camera locks up after a certain amount of time requiring a phone restart, which makes it sort of useless in the field at night on a small mount. iPhone 17, iOS 26.2.1

Only use for taking pictures

The automatic stacking is diabolical for untracked photos. Doesn’t align stars if untracked. I’ll just be putting the images I take into sequator to stack instead

Can you fix it?

It keeps crashing

Doesnt work

Hello AstroShader Team,
I’m experiencing crashes in the app on my iPhone 11 running iOS 16.2.1. I have AstroShader Version 1.0.36 installed (latest from the App Store).
The app opens and I can import pictures, but any interactive feature crashes immediately.

I Open AstroShader
Tap + / − (controls) app crashes
Tap on the screen app crashes
Try to take a picture app crashes
Open Settings app crashes
Use the Focus adjustment slider app crashes
Tap the i (info) button app crashes
Importing pictures works normally
App version: 1.0.36 (latest)
What I’ve already tried:
Restarting my iPhone
Reinstalling AstroShader
Resetting camera permissions
Launching as the first app after reboot
Because only interactive features cause an immediate crash, it appears to be a feature‑specific bug in the current build. Please let me know if you need any additional logs or details.
Thank you for your help!

Response from developer

Sorry for this... The only thing I can suggest is deleting and reinstalling version 1.0.37. The are a few framework issues that will be resolved by AstroShader2.0 which is coming out later this year.
