Customer service 10/10- not some AI bot

The subscription fee is worth the real person you talk to when using their customer service. I use this app a lot on trips and around my city and I 100% say that the money is worth it as a celiac who has major FOMO when eating out.

Great for streamlining options

Love this app and use it everywhere, in US and internationally. Always points me in the right direction, no guessing.

More than a map

I expected a list of restaurants. Instead, I got the context I actually needed to decide where I felt comfortable eating.

Not worth it

First, it has the dumbest sign in procedure. I should have know better, but I paid before I really experienced the app. Once I managed to get through a horrible UX experience with logging in, I searched dog friendly restaurants in Chicago-and the results were horrible, I know the restaurants in my neighborhood that have patios and allow dogs-and the list that came up with was ridiculous. Now I'm going to have spend time figuring out how to get my money back-ugh!!!!

Didn't know what I was missing

I thought finding gluten-free places was just something that had to be difficult. Turns out I was making it much harder than it needed to be.

Wonderful App

I appreciate the Atly app and team. Everyone is kind and I have yet to have any issues with the recommendations. Keep up the great work!

My first stop before eating out

This is the first app I open whenever I'm looking for somewhere to eat. The information is easy to understand, and I like that I can quickly tell the difference between fully gluten-free places and restaurants with just a few options.

A pleasant surprise

I downloaded this expecting a basic restaurant finder, but it’s much more useful than that. The safety details and community recommendations have helped me discover places I actually feel comfortable trying.

NOT FREE

Tried to sign up but you have to pay for the app. It is not free.

Gluten free

Awesome!

Rip Off

Rip off. 4.2 stars? Ya right read all the 1s. Trying to exploit people with celiac. Gross

For an app meant for people, you sure hate people

There are so SO many alternatives to a paid, subscription based plan. Absolutely not discounting the code and design behind the app, but it’s so predatory to lock people in financially at a point where no one knows if they can afford tomorrow. Especially when your mission is “helping people” but only the people who can afford to be helped. Completely pathetic execution and frankly anti-consumer for whats meant to be a consuming-based app. Run ads, take sponsorships or, if you could afford to, go open as a company. Instead you’re relying on a basis of customers hoping they forget their payments and to ultimately never own the means to their own day to day safety and peace of mind.

A life saver

I’ve loved the gluten free map for travel, it’s helped me navigate cities I’m unfamiliar with safely and it’s so easy to do. There are two versions of Atly so if you’re looking for the gluten free one, be sure to select that version!!

What a joke

This place has my business rated with zero reviews posted through the app!!

Who is saying some these places are safe?!?!?

If you are looking for dedicated 100% GF this app is fine. Anything else beware. I see multiple places that have shared ovens/prep spaces etc that are rated at their celiac friendly level and they are clearly not. Better apps on the market. They need to do a better job at vetting vs trusting gf peeps

Won’t allow me to cancel my subscription.

I tried out this app and decided I no longer wanted to pay for a subscription so I tried to cancel. it would first force me to choose a reasoning for my decision but then also force me to talk to some AI generated chat person who would not answer anything I was say. I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with this app’s lack of communication and support. Will not be using or recommending this app.

Response from developer

Hi, we’re really sorry for the frustrating experience, especially when trying to cancel your subscription. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have. Please contact us at support@atly.com with the email or username linked to your account, and our team will look into this right away and help fix it for you.

Charging an exorbitant amount for AI slop

This is offensive to the gluten-free community

Pay wall to use

I’m so sad that there’s a paywall to use the app. I couldn’t get any features without paying. Just another way to rip us off because we can’t eat normal food.
Hopefully one day this kind of filter will be built into Google Maps because paying to find safe places to eat is just gross.

Response from developer

Hi! We charge for the app because we have a dedicated data team that researches and verifies every place, as well as a restaurant vetting program. Our map is also moderated daily to ensure everything stays accurate and up to date. We also offer a 7-day free trial so you can explore the app and see the value for yourself.

AI Slop Google Map Wrapper

$50 a year for what google map can do!?!?!?

Unsafe

A a person with Celiacs I find it disrespectful that you charge people and then give dangerous recommendations. You say you must charge I order to pay for vetting all these restaurants. But you do not vet them. We still have to phone ahead to see if any of these places are really save for our community. Shame on you! Why don’t you just sell advertising instead of charging high prices to an already tapped out community. Shameful.

Response from developer

Hi Omateresa, thank you for sharing this feedback. We take celiac safety seriously, and we understand how frustrating inaccurate or unclear recommendations can be. We charge for the app because maintaining accurate, useful information takes ongoing work. We also deliberately chose not to sell restaurant advertising or paid placement, because we want our commitment to be to the celiac and gluten-free community, not to businesses. Our goal is for recommendations to be guided by user safety, community feedback, and trust. That said, restaurant practices can change. Please send us the specific restaurants or recommendations you found to be unsafe at support@atly.com. We’ll review them, investigate the details, and update or remove listings where needed. Thank you for helping us improve the app for everyone who depends on it.
