Broken

Stopped working, no support

DO NOT BUY DO NOT DOWNLOAD

This ridiculous thermostat and app has a mind of its own. NO CONTROL whatsoever. Last update a year ago?? No customer support at all - don’t buy this thermostat or download the app!

Unbelievable

I normally don’t write reviews but I have so many problems with this app and thermostat.

Why do I need to download an app to program the heating of my house. Also you can only connect to it when you are IN YOUR HOUSE. Secondly I have to create an account...to run a thermostat...in my home...why? The user interface of the app is terrible.

The one bright spot is the thermostat which seems to work fine besides the fact that it is almost worthless without the app.

If you are considering buying from this company get a thermostat that does not include an app.

Suggestions for improvement

I started using this app a few days ago after installing two WiFi thermostats. The app works fine, but I have two immediate suggestions to improve it.

1. Show when the thermostats are heating, maybe just a little symbol showing that the heaters are on at the moment.

2. Show some heating history. It would be useful to see when the heaters were on and when they were off. This would help me manage a remote house by comparing what the heaters were doing with the outside temperature. If the heating history could even show the corresponding outside temperature, that would be perfect.

Keep working on it...

Update - after power recycled it seems to be reliably accessible. Apparently slightly darkened icon means no connectivity. Would be helpful if there were documentation explaining things like that, along with straight forward troubleshooting.

Worked well once after latest update, then the next time I tried to access it I could see the icon for my thermostat, but it is slightly darkened and nothing happens when I tap it. Frustrated.

Left in the cold!!

They have made one app update to the app in 7 months! Goes to show the lack of support for this product. The how to guide is a summary not a user guide yet noone in service wants to help you. Spent way too much on this system to be left “in the cold”.

Also if you click the app support link its for a number and company in Taiwan.

Disappointed

Garbage

App and tstat are complete junk. Hopefully people read up prior to wasting your time and money on this garbage.

Still needs work /unstable.

Update: Good interaction with customer service today. Looks like the device knows the local time via the power line, and the P1-P4 issue is tied to the fact the my device is an older model that is unable to accept the latest firmware push, so not an app issue as far as I can tell (will have to confirm after updating hardware). New model being shipped gratis, so that’s cool. Not giving up!

Update: No matter how the P1-P4 time blocks are set up, it never progresses out of P3. Please keep improving it, don’t give up until the app is fully working properly... I promise I’ll give 5 stars when we get there (soon I hope)!

Seems to be getting better. I suspect my remote programming problem was resolved by an update to the device software pushed over WiFi since now I can program remotely using the app, yet the app hasn’t been updated in 2 months. My current frustration is that I don’t seem to be able to set the time for the unit remotely, and there is no “device current time” display in the app so I have no idea what time the device thinks it is relative to the Programming Period time blocks. (Think about it in terms of a vacation home... if there is a power outage and I’m not there to manually set the time when the power comes back on, things get out of whack, right?) Please add a thermostat time display to the app, and a function to set it remotely in the app. Thank you.

Program and app are completely broken

The device looks good and has nice functions however, the programming and application are completely junk.

These devices continually loose connection to the internet, forget their program settings, restore themselves to factory settings, and will even ignore you when you place them on override / hold. We bought five of these and they all do the same thing.

I was a contractor for 18 years and I have used king products without an issue in the past. However these are garbage.

At the price of $140 a piece I expect them to at least work.

You could never install these and walk away from them. Save frustration and the money you will loose hiring a professional to install only to come back and rip them out.

I should also mention, I wrote king electric an email to their tech department and left a phone message. A week later no response.

So... I called in again and got a rep who was rude he made no sense and didn’t listen to anything I said. He was short disinterested and presumably not suppose to be in customer service at all.

In closing I will be returning my products and find a device that has been tested before just dumping it on the market.

Great Service

Our thermostats quit working about 3 weeks ago, king electric service dept. responded quickly and fixed our problem. Thanks you Daren. - J.C. from Terre Haute In.

Garbage

Constantly loosing connection to WIFI and
Consistent unknown failure. The design of the app is not user friendly, can only be used horizontally and has a lack of settings/configurations.

Greg1406

Absolute piece of crap. Constantly losing connection to the WiFi. Totally defeats the purpose of the product.
Buy elsewhere.... garbage!

So far so good.

Only have it installed for a few days so I hope it continues to function as expected.

Easy set up, And use.

App is Sketchy

When this app works, it works well. However, more often than not, I can see my thermostat when I open the app, but I cannot open the thermostat to change the settings.

Needs an update

I was not able to set up my thermostat using my iPhone and iOS 11.1.2, after selecting the atmoz in wifi networks it did not sequence into the atmoz app. Luckily I have an old gen3 iPad with an older iOS. I successfully added the thermostat using that, and then it showed up in the app on my iPhone.
