It has a nasty habit of blocking programs it's not familiar with without notify you.

Sad demise of great app
Iāll start by saying I LOVED this app - the vault for photos has been fantastic. Following a recent update the vault has emptied and now Iāve lost things I kept safe in there. The āhelpā option basically says - your fault you uninstalled app. I did not. It was the update.
So yeah what was once exactly what I needed is no longer something I will recommend. Try something else. Just thankful I didnāt need to access things in an emergency. Sigh. Very disappointed thereās no one to actually tell about the issue. Will be researching other options for my next renewal of security.

Scam?
I just paid for a year, they charged me for 2. On top of that, I am still receiving spam calls.

I have been utilizing AVAST since itās inception from way back. It was during a trip out to CA whole working on finishing up final touches on some much awaited banking software . We kept getting these hidden worm viruses no one could seem to detect which would infect our whole network. One of my IT guys on the east coast who knew about these guys says Im going to send you a link. Download it run i5 in your laptop only isolate and send me the findings. In less than an hour we had completed what other major competitors claimed to do , we had paid them to do yet they were asleep at the wheel. Thanks guys for all of your many years of great customer support and patience with all of my people in the beginning. Itās been a wild ride.

Dishonest
I wanted to start the free trial because it would not allow me to sign in. Instead of letting me have a free trial, it took Ā£40 annual fee straight out of my account without my permission!! I canāt afford to pay that amount in full. Very sneaky and dishonest for a security app.
It has been two days, and I have not been able to get it installed yet.
I am trying to understand how it is possible that I was able to get my Mac up and running immediately but, two days after ordering and paying for this service, yet I am unable to install it on my iPhone because a solution is still being worked on.. GRR!
Hacked
My Avast account is currently hacked, the hacker accessed all my āavast protectedā email addresses via Avast and has currently blocked out 3/4 of the Avast screen, meanwhile running an Avast bug check is revealing nothing and customer services are doing nothing.
Avast security keeps me feeling safe.
I feel safe with Avast security. They are right on top of things if there is a threat of any type. It is a little expensive for an elderly widow but I do what I cans. Avast has been very good to me and love being able to ask questions when I donāt understand things. Thank you Avast for taking care of my fears.

First activate Web Guard. Then download ProtonVPN, connect to a vpn, then disconnect. Now open Avast One, it still says Web Guard is connected, yet if I open iPhone Settings, VPN says itās disconnected. So users think Avast Web Guard is connected still when itās not.
This is critical!! Such bad security!! Yet Norton gives you a notification that itās not connected, so why is Avast missing this important feature? Is it because Iām not a paid member? Either way, itās not good enough.
