What happened

Graphics on my new ipad pro are magnified? and the ipad display bar is in constant display at a 90' rotation counter clockwise?? Attempted to adjust the graphics etc but no luck..attempted to reinstall and check for updates and still no luck. Graphics are different from that shown on the previews as well..So I am attempting to get a refund since it was not functioning as previewed or expected.

Nothing works

Buttons don’t, good luck trying to use skill points because buttons don’t work. Instructions from characters are illogical or unhelpful. Junk and backpack are the same, no way to segregate items. Took me forever to figure out that win a character told me to go south I actually had to go to West first. Incredibly annoying game that just doesn’t work. I deleted it and went back to playing the original Avernum series.

Would have given a 5 star rating but for this…

I’ve played all of the Avadon/Avernum games on my ipad and loved ‘em, then I got to this one and WHAT HAPPENED! Did the programmer have a stroke and couldn’t get his head off his right shoulder!? Every other game in the series, I could swipe into a database to record details of the game I wanted to remember and both apps had the same default (and correct) orientation when the ipad is in landscape mode. For some unknown reason the developer broke with a solid compatible configuration to instead turn his app 90 degrees from everything else. All I can think of is that he’s gotten old and crotchety and hates people documenting his game in another app and decided to be a total jerk! ALL VERSIONS I’d had prior to this played nice on the ipad when swapping apps and then to do this lunacy in this app! It’s a good thing the rest of the game is stellar or it would have been more than a star knocked off!

Once again superb story

Avernum 6, sadly, concludes the series. I loved it. The functionality is slightly different than Avernum 1 to 3 and it takes times to get used to it.

As with the other Avernums, the story gripped me so much I found hard to drop my iPad.

I had tears in my eyes when it ended as, this is it, no more episodes. All I can hope is that Spiderweb will release Avernum 4 and 5 for iPad ( please!).

I won’t summarise the game, lots has already been written about it. It is a very enjoyable game, so much to do and so much to explore that it will keep you busy for a long time. I totally recommend it, and at that price it is a bargain! Thank you spiderweb.

Great RPG

I played all of Spiderweb’s rpg games on my old iMac, and loved them. I just finished playing Avernum 1,2, and 3 in their new incarnation on my iPad. All the changes only made the games better. I am starting #6 today after trying to play the old and unchanged version. The differences are stark. I had to stop and download this new edition. Thank you Spiderweb for all the hard work it must have taken to produce this. I will hope to see #4 and 5 eventually in this updated version.

I wish there were more like this!

Awesome game!

Best Game Ever

Awesome Game I’ve Spent tens of hours on it literally can’t stop playing. Awesome adventure but challenging

Still no screen orientation support (fixed)

App appears upside down on my iPad. Many iPad cases with built-in stands hold the device on its left side.

(Update)

Thank you so much for fixing this!

Truly an awesome game and a classic!!!

One of the best RPGs of all time

Hours and hours of awesome gameplay. I can only wish that Jeff Vogel makes an iPad version of Avernum 3, 4 and 5.

Great but Too Small

The game is very detailed and the mechanics are well-made. My biggest complaint is how small the tileset is -- It is like a half to a third of the size of Avadon's graphics which makes mis-clicks occur a good portion of the time. There are also a few times where the terrain graphics cover up enemies which I feel is a fundamental design flaw. Other than that, the game is of high quality story and gameplay-wise.

Awesome retro fantasy RPG!!!

Spiderweb Software makes the best story driven RPG's that I ever played. If you like old school fantasy RPG's like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Avadon, and Dungeons of Chaos on iOS, then this game is for you!

Great RPG series

All the Avernum games are great fun. Classic RPG style game that focuses more on the story than flashy graphics. I've been playing them for yrs in Windows and jumped at the chance to get it on ipad.

Your party is charged with helping the underground kingdom if Avernum survive twin catastrophes: a mysterious disease that is wiping out the country's food source and an invasion by an old foe, the reptilian Sliths.

A massive world, tons of quests, and a mostly nonlinear storyline allow players to direct their own way through the game.

Some of the mechanics are harder on the smaller touchscreen of the ipad than on a mouse-based system, but it's worth putting up with for the adventure.

Epic RPG - Worth every penny

I have nearly all of these Spiderweb apps for IPAd - all as immersive as each other. Hours of gameplay. Just need a IPhone version. Surely the new iphone 6 can handle it!!!! I'd happily pay again for an iphone version

Riesige Spielwelt

The best of the best

Spiderweb makes the best turn-based RPGs, and Avernum 6 is my favorite of them. It's got a meaningful plot, a relatively painless level-grinding process, and a well-balanced difficulty level. Only downside: it's HUGE, and took me months to complete at an hour a day.

Excellent Time Passer

I've put in dozens or hours into this game and have usually had a hard time putting it down. Spiderweb does not disappoint here with content and secret places to find.

World map and food

When touching on quest locations in the world map, the text appears almost directly where you touch. This is almost totally unreadable because it is under your finger. The text should appear further away from where you touch to be user friendly.

Also, with all the talk of the importance of food in this game, there is no clear indication of if or whether you actually need to eat or are getting hungry. Does eating food actually do anything other than restore some health?

Excellent

I love this game!

Hours of epic old-school RPG goodness

This is arguably one of the most expansive RPG experiences to be had on the iOS platform. Epic story, sprawling world, challenging dungeons, tons of side quests, awesome customizability. The world-building is phenomenal. I love how well thought out and detailed the culture of Avernum is. It's really pulled me into the game. One complaint is that the controls can be a bit finicky. It can sometimes be difficult to target/select smaller objects, like the radio buttons in the menus. But I've found playing with a stylus helps.
