I love the idea, but the app is not working

No planes - only parsing errors, retries and info that the api is overloaded.

Dead app

Not sure why Jacob dropped the ball on this, but it hasn’t worked in months. Sad, because it’s a super cute app

Egal wann und wo

der Server ist immer overloaded und man soll es später versuchen.
Ein App die nicht funktioniert, das betrifft auch das Backend, ist flüssiger als Wasser, nämlich ÜBERFLÜSSIG. Wird gelöscht.

Data error makes this unusable

I’ve been trying over the course of the past week, at different times of the day. I always get a data error and it won’t show planes. I loved the blog post and app design, but unfortunately it doesn’t work. I’ll happily change to 5 stars if it’s fixed.

Keine Funktion

Nun, da die App nicht funktioniert, habe ich sie wieder gelöscht. Man sollte vielleicht keine App releasen, wenn das Backbone nicht dafür ausgelegt ist.

Always get data error

Seems like a cool app that my toddler would love. I have never got passed a data parsing /server busy error however.

Hey wertrose, The open-source API I depended on is working again now, so to celebrate I released v2.0! I'd love if you tried it out again :)

Broken

Seems the app is never able to pull down any data. Would gladly revise this remark if fixed!

Server immer busy

Mind. 5 an verschiedene. Tagen die App gestartet. Immer Fehlermeldung oder Server busy Meldungen. Macht kein Spaß.

Hoffe da kommt bald mal ne Verbesserung. Ansonsten wird die App wieder gelöscht !!!

Deswegen bisher nur 1 Stern.

Own data sources

Hey Jacob, very nice App. Threema your server is busy today ;-)
It it possible to add a feature were we can setup our own ADSB/VirtualRadarServers as Source for the planes shown on the radar?

Cool but not working

First I wanted to say that I admire what you did here - whole project is very cool. Unfortunately something might have gone wrong over the years as I'm not able to see any planes in it

Doesn’t seem to work in US

I loved your development story.

However, it doesn’t work for me, even with VPN shut off. I get different messages:
“Server overloaded”
“Request timed out”
“Error parsing data”

But I’ll keep trying

Hey wourmman, really appreciate you downloading and reading the story! The open-source API I was built on was broken for the longest time, but it's working again now - so I've released 2.0! Please give it a try now and see if you like it more this time around.

Realtime Tracking is not working.

Very nice idea!
But the planes don’t move. Once the radar shows planes they stay like this.

Fun app for kids and adults

Read the article the author wrote about building this app. Fun idea. The boys love planes and we are always wondering what is a plane in the sky vs something else like stars or planets when the planes are very high over our home at night.

This app is so much simpler to view than most plane tracking apps as it removes the noise. It keeps it local to the phone and follows the phone’s orientation. Fun app. Thanks!
