MF hasn’t made an update app is useless don’t waste your money
Crashes out every time I start playing a song
The UI is dated and not intuitive. Worst issue however is every time I try to play something it crashes to the Home Screen. Have to reopen the app and then it lets me restart playback and works.
The workhorse for my 88,000 song DB
I’ve been a subscriber for gosh probably 8-10 years now. This is my #1 app without really a close second. Developer is still updating the UI and adding formatting options and he’s a good bloke to boot. If there’s a preferred server for my 2017 iMac over Subsonic I’d love to hear about it. Happy user 🙏🏻

Preferred over the other options.
This app isn’t perfect though it does a decent job with most features that I use.
I use internet radio and that works well but it would be nice if next and previous on the wheel changed the channel, though I don’t know if that is possible with subsonic.
Caching is working again.
After v.24 the cache failed me, though the failure was due to a 10 hour file was saved to the cache causing it to crash if you tried to open the cache once saved. Smaller files worked properly.

Excellent app with Apple Watch support
This app does everything that I hoped to do with Emby, I purchased Emby lifetime hoping that someday I would have the ability to directly transfer music to my Watch without using Apples Software. This actually works more reliably than transferring music from the phone to watch in the watch app.
Also appreciate the customisation options.
Like a previous review mentioned, it would be good if we could silence the purchase notifications.

Feedback: shortcuts?
The app is wonderful and works great with my ampache installation. I was wondering if more shortcuts integrations could be added, such as starting a playlist (randomized play or not), starting a song, continuing playing a specific playlist from last bookmark…?
Could it be possible to use the playlist miniature as the song image as well?

Not developers fault.
This developer of this IOS app has deep customization options that none of the others offer. Unfortunately since the developer of Subsonic has bought what used to be open source software and hasn’t developed it since Mac OS Mavericks (ten years ago) it makes for many obstacles. I’m very grateful for this developer still supporting this software.

I always assumed this was the goto app for subsonic on iOS. Been a happy user for years now. Absolutely love this app. You won’t regret getting it I promise.
Cache is broken
The last few releases the cache has been broken. The last version that worked correctly was 24.2.1. The app caches properly, but when you click on the cache button the app crashes. The cache button works properly if nothing is in the cache. Very frustrating. It’s sad as I use that the most while driving.

Watch player broken as of watchOS 10
The app on Apple Watch is broken as of watchOS 10.
The music starts, but when you close the app or switch to another app or lower your wrist the music stops.

Watch app does not support streaming
I bought this and set up a subsonic server because I was desperate for some sort of option for streaming music to my Apple Watch, but I’m going to have to get a refund now since the app doesn’t support it like the store page implies.
Very buggy
Want to stop what you are listening to in order to talk with someone. Well you will have to look at where you are in whatever because chances are good it wont start playing again. Oh it says it is playing but there is no sounds. You have to completely close the app the. Reopen and go find the place you were manually and start again.
Want to listen to the latest episode of a podcast? Nope it will say you are listening to that latests episode but it will actually be from a month ago.

Came across AV sub as it was recommended for use with ASTIGA. I’ve tried virtually everything before this and nothing gets anywhere near! Brilliant!

best subsonic client for ios
I tried every client listed from subsonic.org (except play:sub) this is so far the best. Free version best is iSub. Follewed by substreamer. Paid app this works flawlessly, and the author, Richard responds to support lightening fast. Great job.

By Far Best Subsonic API App
I’m 7 years in with this app, and although I still check out other like-apps, this is still by far the best. Easy interface, extensive as-is, and a right balance of add-ons if you have a more complex environment. Pick your favorite Subsonic API server and you’re good to go.

The Essential Subsonic App
I originally purchased this app a few years ago and watching it grow to become such a fantastic client for my music has been a wonderful experience. Features are added as consistently as bugs are fixed and with a striving for smoothness and consistency in the interface. Without this app there is a good chance I would have given up on my Subsonic setup before it could have realized its potential. I rarely go out of my way to review an app but when I saw that after all the effort and dedication put in by the developer it only had 3.8 stars I made it a point to profess my appreciation for everything that they’ve done.
