This app is very useful. Please update to support larger screen and maybe the ability to remove ads.
Good as far as it goes
Be aware that the displayed wire diameter is that of a single solid wire of the selected gauge so it is of no use for estimating the bundle diameter of a stranded wire of the same CSA which is what I needed for being able to drill a hole to be a close fit over ordinary stranded wires. The bundle diameter of stranded wires is always larger than the solid diameter.

Great app for wirework jewelry.
Great app for wirework jewelry. I can use my calipers to measure and then convert to gauges. I am always losing the labels on my wire, and have to guess at gauges for projects. This is seriously a must have since my little tool for checking gauge is frequently missing. (But I ALWAYS know where my ipad and phone are!)

No max amperes
Would be fantastic if it gave you the max current load for the wire. If one could type in the voltage and length and it gave u the max current for that chosen wire

I would like to see similar information for larger wire sizes like 250MCM, 350MCM, 500MCM, & 750MCM.

Would like to see this app calculate the resultant AWG after combining two or more wires.
Wish it had fractions also!
If it did fractions for the diameter lengths, it would be perfect! Coming from a crafter type that uses this app to check wire sizes I have, or need to order, for the next chainmaille jewelry project. :)

Good little app. Does what it says. It would be even more usefull if it showed ampicity ratings or had a wire gauge requirement calculator.
wire size
the concept is good, but it would be great if the wire sizes went higher ( maybe up to 1000 MCM ). would also like to see different types, such as solid and stranded wire, bare and insulated wire, and copper and aluminum . the ampacities of all the wire sizes would be helpful also.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.
Would have given it fives stars but it's missing one important feature that you need ho have when looking at cable sizes and that's current carrying capacity to help size fuses.
Free so shouldn't complain but if there was a way to choose cable type, (SWA/flexy/multicore/), and then the size followed by the amperage capacity being displayed. That would make it a 5 star chargeable app for me.

A good start, but...
While it's interesting to have the cross section area per AWG provided, it would be TRULY useful if resistance/foot (and/or meter) and current-carrying capacity (both in air and in conduit) were also provided. Without including that practical information, it's simply a graphical toy for most people, IMO.
