29Jun26 horrible UX

Thought this was a joke. One of the worst UXs I’ve encountered. Embarrassing really. And this is from a diehard AWS user and former employee

Keeps crashing

Keeps crashing

Crashed

it has instant crash after update. Won’t open

Very bad user experience

This app fully demonstrates how app coding product bad apps which looks awesome, fancy, but really hard to use. Too many basic issues just common sense behavior, screen lock, button has no react. I can imagine it is just plain be day work without fully tested app👎

Does not work

It just shows a message saying “the device appears to be jailbroken” and exits.

Somewhat helpful

“Up next” was helpful and calendar. Location navigation often gave an error. Wish there was more intelligent recommendations when I’ve just finished a session and looking for something else nearby that I could join (without needing manual filtering on venue, time of day, and then browsing through 66 results). There’s lots of stuff that should be easier to find such as shuttle schedules and daily menus at each of the venues (without asking chatbot for this). Also please consider next year a feature for multiple attendees for a conference to join a team to share their calendars with each other and opt in to location sharing. This would have been awesome for our team to coordinate meetups. Also I wish more info was available re dev/quest like “where do I go for the self paced training”, would have saved a lot of time.

UI is horrible

Trying to schedule events in the app is clunky. Often swiping on multiple favorites in the same time slot would flip flop favs and reserved. Plus clicking on the calendar entry was a struggle.

Poor interface

If you’re going to force us to run around like walk-up peasants, at least add event filtering by venue

UX is just plain bad

I’m amazed AWS actually released this in its current state. After using it for a recent event I was amazed by just how bad it is. App stops responding to taps for events until it’s relaunched. Nothing seems to be cached locally causing painful load times. Scrolling favorites horizontally also sometimes swipes back to reserved.

Works well enough

The app works well enough for me to find sessions and reserve them but I can’t see both my reserved and favorited sessions on the same view. It would have been nice to see both without having to flip views. Navigation kind of sucks at first and freaks out if you’re not already in the conference area. I still need to know how to get there before worrying about which room it is.

Can’t find simple info

The app seems to get worse every year. This year, it’s reached new lows. You can’t find anything basic like the hours for the shuttles, expo, or monorail access. These can be found in the session catalog but the duration just says “all day”. What an unhelpful way to determine what time something closes. The key or video hiccuped many times so I switched to watch it on YouTube instead. The app is only good for finding sessions and seeing your reserved sessions. It’s even too hard to look through your favorites when they overlap on the app. Lastly, the font size in the calendar on standard font setting is extremely tiny. It’s hard to imagine how this app past any sort of UX review.

Shame it does not do app side caching

There is seemingly no app side caching, so if you don’t have internet can’t see your registered session. Difficult when then WiFi is down or signal poor.

Totally amateurish app

There is nothing good about this app. I really wondering how much Quality testing done on this. Search wont work , the ask does not bring any good results. Favorites not showing up calendar, list goes on…work with few participants and let them try all options and see what the output is.contact me i can show you the drawbacks on this app.

No way to check personal time

The app does not integrate fully with the browser version. The browser lets user add personal time for networking events etc. However, the app does not show it.

Worst experience during conference with limited internet connection

- Slow startup time with poor internet connection
- session expired but app does not recognise so I had to reinstall
- ‘reserve a seat’ should not be activated if there is no seat remaining
- so many weird ‘something went wrong’ error, including error message in raw HTML

UX doesn’t work well with large fonts

Increasing the font size for accessibility on my phone resulted poor layout and overlapping text

Running on MACOS

1 STAR - Plenty of iOS apps run on macOS like a dream… easy, portable, full of cool bells and whistles. But not this app. Nope, some ding dong thought it would be hilarious to flash “jailBroken.warningDescription” across the screen and then rage-quit like a toddler. Thanks for the masterclass in uselessness, guys!

Easy to use

Well found it easy to use, useful filters, especially time of the day.

Please support IPAD

Works great on iPhone, not usable on IPAD.

No events showing

The app doesn’t show any events and yet there are scheduled events coming up like re:Inforce
