Dice Rolls

Overall the app is great, however, the dice rolls do not follow actual statistical probabilities. I find the game AI favours more unlucky rolls just to make the gameplay ‘harder’. Too many instances where I have numerous tanks and plans that don’t land hits, or a force that outnumbers the defenders and i still lose 50% of my attackers. Dice rolls need serious re-working. In one game a put a bomber up against a bomber, took 2 rounds of attack and both defenders and my bomber were destroyed. Sent 2 bombers on a bombing run and opponent rolls snake eyes. Did another major attack of 10 infantry, 2 artillery, 1 tank and 1 fighter against 5 infantry, 2 artillery and 2 tanks. I won the battle but was left with only 1 artillery and 1 fighter. Terrible odds on rolls when you are ‘winning’ the overall game.

Dice still wonky

I just went 1 for 52. Only about a 1 in 7k outcome. I would take these attacking dice to las Vegas and mop up.

Need to Fix

The game is fun, when the dice aren’t working against the allied players. It’s gotten even worse over the last couple of days. Fix them and you’ll make most players happy.

Great Cross Play! Fixed

Just grabbed the game to play with friends on the go, mainly because I wanted to jump back and forth from my PC (Steam) without losing my mind (or my progress).
Turns out, the mobile version auto-logged me into my Apple Game Center account and magically synced everything right out of the box. Cross-platform play with PC folks and other mobile players has been completely seamless. I can literally close the game on my computer, pick up my phone or iPad wherever I am, and keep playing right where I left off over cellular or Wi-Fi.
A couple of minor quirks so far:
Battle Notes: Still completely baffled on how to leave notes for other players using the app. For now, I'm just aggressively texting my friends directly or waiting until I'm back at my desk.
Random Crashes: The app hiccups and crashes every once in a while, but it auto-reloads so fast it drops me right back on my last step anyway. Again doesn’t happen often, and not a deference.
Overall, zero real complaints. Smooth sailing from the couch or on the move.

The dice are a joke

Don’t waste your time or money

THE PROBLEM

rule book

Glitchy

Game won’t always open for me. Hasn’t opened for me the last three tries over the past several hours

The Dice are so bad

So many problems & the dice are not random. Some of your battles should be guaranteed win based on numbers of units & unit types but somehow the dice will roll misses over & over but the AI gets all 1’s & 2’s hits round after round until your overwhelming numbers & strength is crushed & meant nothing.

Excellent Representation of the board game

I love this game! I had initially given a lower rating due to issues where an iOS update caused it to stop working on mobile devices. That was fixed months ago and has been running great since. Super fun game to those loyal to the classic board game.

All the negative reviews others have posted are true.

Russia and Japan had a non-aggression pact during WWII but yet bombers flying out of Borneo can’t attack Japan because during 1942 the allies didn’t have a bomber with that range. So which is it? It’s as if a 12 year old developed this game.

Old ratings

Since they’ve fixed the bug allowing the game to run, this game is amazing. Exactly what you’d want from axis and allies. As a player of the board game for many years, it’s much more enjoyable not having to setup and move the pieces over extended periods of time.

Needlessly complicated

Pass on this. I was hoping it would be like the old PC version of Axis & Allies but it’s not. The PC version on Windows XP duplicated the game map, units, etc to the point where it was almost like plying the table top board game version.

This needs to be trimmed down or completely gutted. In short I wasted $10. Total graphics nightmare and slow game play. The whole idea behind computer games aside from rounding up other players is not having to read a booklet on how to play. I’ll remove this game from my system soon.

Thank you

Thank you so much for making this game online bc me and my brothers loved this game as a kid and now 2 of us are in the United States but states away and one is in Japan in the navy so now we can play axis and allies again this game was a big core memory

One of my2 favorite games of all time

Great game - compete with others - ladder seasons, tournaments, etc.

Fun Game

Game works well since the update. Rarely have any problems. Great game to play with friends.

New Maps Please

Game is working great. New map options would be awesome.

Fun idea, RNG needs looked at, Clunky UI

The app does a good job of the fun capturing the board game, but struggles in some areas. The user interface is a bit difficult to use and definitely takes some getting used to, especially around transports - it’s functional but often needs a specific sequence of events to function. The random number generator for the dice rolls is awful. Often there are what should be statically rare rolls that happen every turn. This really skews the fun and strategy of the game. Specific units also seem to have skewed rolls. Defending subs, bombers, and industrial complexes hit more frequently than they should. Attacking bombers, fighters, tanks, and rolls for bombing raids also appear skewed. Bombing raids are essentially useless as the attacking bomber almost always rolls between 1-3. You will also see patterns with how the dice roll. You’ll have repeated sequences where everything will roll a five or six. They everything will roll a two or three. The rolls seem to be collective and not every die individually. Truly does take away from a lot of the fun. I would expect a more refined and balanced experience from a $10 app

Well done

Very well designed app for iphone gaming. I haven’t discovered a single bug or glitch over 20 full games on an iphone14. Everything just works well including transports and aircraft carriers. With new seasons the game always feels fresh and fun. See you on the battlefield!

Great game ruined!

Great classic board game but the developers need to stop rigging the role and start improving the auto-player. Unplayable until then!

Wildly lopsided

It seems in Southeast Asia there’s absolutely no way to defeat the axis no matter how overwhelming your forces are
over 30 troops in battle and the most I get is six hits and they turn around and completely wiped me out every single time

it’s not even remotely programmed to be fair on a dice roll. Not even close I’m on round 80 in a game and it has done it over and over and over and over. No matter how many troops I send against I always get completely wiped out.
