About

AXIS is a game of weight, momentum and nerve. You control a single steel sphere in a world of thin ledges, sudden drops and platforms that shift beneath you. There are no buttons, no virtual sticks, no taps. You steer by tilting your device — and the sphere answers with real momentum. Tip the device and it rolls. Level it and it keeps rolling. Lean too hard, too late, and it simply doesn't stop. The device is the controller. Everything else follows from that. TILT CONTROL, DONE PROPERLY AXIS reads your device's gyroscope continuously and converts it into force, never into position. The sphere is never teleported, nudged or snapped — it is pushed, exactly as a real ball would be. Every roll carries momentum. Every surface has friction. Every collision costs you something. You will feel the difference within ten seconds of picking it up. Calibrate your neutral angle at any time, adjust sensitivity to your grip, and play seated, standing or lying down. A WORLD BUILT TO BE READ Levels are presented in a fixed isometric view, framed so you can see the danger before you commit to it. The camera tracks the sphere smoothly, looks ahead into the direction you are travelling, and hands off between camera zones as you cross the level. It never snaps, never lurches, never fights you for orientation. Each level is a small, deliberate puzzle in control: where to build speed, where to shed it, which line turns a nervous crawl into a clean, fast run. WIND THAT PUSHES BACK Leave the Laboratory and the worlds start to blow. Crosswinds shove the sphere sideways across narrow corridors, and you have to hold a counter-lean to keep your line. The wind starts gently in Glacier and builds world by world until Storm lives up to its name. In the later worlds some winds come in gusts: watch the leaves drift in the lulls and rush as the next gust builds, and listen for it coming. HAZARDS WITH INTENT Open holes, sheer chasms, moving ground and one-way slopes. Nothing in AXIS is random and nothing is unfair — every hazard punishes greed rather than curiosity. Fall, and you restart from your last checkpoint with the lesson intact. FEATURES • Pure gyroscope steering — no on-screen controls • True physics simulation: momentum, friction, weight and collision • Fixed isometric camera with smooth tracking, look-ahead and camera zones • Handcrafted levels with platforms, hazards, collectables, checkpoints and portals • Wind across the later worlds, from steady crosswinds to gusts • Timer and lives, with instant restart — retries are quick and painless • Adjustable tilt sensitivity and one-tap recalibration • Progress saved automatically between sessions • Atmospheric sound that follows the play: a rumble that tracks the sphere's speed, wind that swells with every gust • Built for iPhone and iPad, full screen on both DESIGNED FOR SHORT SESSIONS AND LONG OBSESSIONS A level takes a minute. Mastering it takes considerably longer. Every run is timed, so the game you finish is never the game you keep playing — that one is against your own best line. AXIS is free. The whole game, with no advertising, no energy meters, no in-app currency, no in-app purchases and no interruptions. Play offline, anywhere. Tilt carefully. Or don't.

What's New in Axis

1.1.0

September 28, 2026

The wind is picking up. After the Laboratory, the worlds start to blow. Wind pushes the sphere sideways across narrow corridors and wide open floors, and you'll need to lean into it to hold your line. It starts gently in Glacier and builds world by world, until Storm lives up to its name. In the later worlds, some winds come in gusts. Watch the leaves: they slow to a drift in the lulls and rush as a gust builds, and you'll hear it coming too. Now made for iPad. Axis runs full screen on iPad. Also in this update: The guide arrow is easier to see against the dark, and stays with you until the exit is in view. Various fixes and improvements.
