User reviews

Mostly great…

Creative approach and nicely executed. My only concern is lack of stand-alone, thus four versus five stars. Otherwise, a very clever approach and great implementation.

Docked a star for lack of a stand-alone

The new version of Axon is very fine, along the lines of its predecessor, but in a leaner, cleaner outfit. The big miss noted in the title matters because it requires users to get a DAW going to do baseline work like setting up kits. The older version, which had a slightly slower work-flow, one must note in defense of the developer's choice, had a helpful stand-alone component. I miss it here, and use the app less as a result.

Adding a stand-alone would solve my only issue with Axon 3. Once running, it gets users fairly quickly to interesting rhythm parts with normal or damaged sounds, which is the whole point. Recommended then, I am happy to say, with that one reservation.

Sounds Like Analog Hardware

This reminds me of an analog module. Great features with an intuitive interface. I’ll have to experiment more to see if need to change my review.

I really wish it was also a standalone app

Much better than Axon 2.

I bought this after seeing Doug Woods review it on his Thesoundtestroom YouTube channel. I’ve had Axon 2 for some time, but that seems to have stopped working. as Axon 3 was available at a reasonable price, and Doug’s review was helpful, I took the plunge and I’m happy. Programming it is a doddle compared to the previous version.
