App crashes while opening
Immediately upon opening, app crashed, on both iPad and iPhone, with newest OS
Businesses don’t know about it
The app works well but every place we’ve tried to use it has never heard of it. It’s caused a lot of embarrassment and a lot of time wasted explaining to employees, then managers, how this is supposed to work. Shouldn’t there be some kind of training when businesses sign up for this? Great system. Poor implementation.

Easy to use!
Love this app! Earning points could not be more simple. I was a bit worried about the process for redeeming the points, but it was really easy/intuitive for myself. The small business owner was very appreciative and mentioned how quick the city is at paying businesses back for redeemed points. Win-win! Can’t wait to use this for my holiday shopping.

Good Concept, unnecessary privacy risks
Love the idea of a shop local app to support local businesses. However, the app requests your full credit/debit card info to work. Other rewards apps work just fine with QR codes or phone numbers without opening the risks for security breaches by requiring credit card info.
Good idea poor integration
The integration with Plaid is terrible. You can’t integrate your capital one card and no matter what I do it says my password is wrong to link my bank account. Why can’t you just upload the card number? Impossible to use.
Awesome choice
Making this app was genius and definitely creates a real impact from the places that are benefiting. Before, I couldn’t really rationalize going out very much and not necessarily to local restaurants when chains are often more competitive at price point. However, this app changed everything. Now if I go out to a nice restaurant on the list, I can afford to grab coffee at my local place every day and feel good about going. It’s pretty addicting.

My phone number not allowed
I am a Boston resident but my number is from Puerto Rico. Never had an issue using it to sign up for anything because we share the +1 with the U.S.
Your system does not accept my # under the U.S. (incorrect because P.R. is not a country so it exists under U.S.).
When I put P.R. it says +1787 and that is also incorrect. 787 is an area code. Like the U.S. there are other alternatives like 939.
I know for a fact there is a huge population of Puerto Ricans that have been Boston residents for years and never changed their number - because it’s not necessary.
Please let us enjoy our city! (:

Credit card not supported
I like the idea, but having to link up a credit card makes me worry about the privacy of my transaction history. I tried linking one up to give the app a try (Capital One) but my card was not supported.
Great concept, poor implementation
I was excited to download this app and support local businesses. It’s a smart idea! Yet when I went to use the points, the participating business had no idea they were signed up. Although they tried to see if it would work and redeemed my 15 points, it didn’t accomplish much and I had to pay separately. Better communication will be key.

Honestly I’m obsessed
So now that I’m vaccinated and finally starting to get out again, I’ve been able to check out new places in Boston AND the city has been paying for it with this app! It just really feels like the city is coming alive again after the pandemic and I’m here for it.

Doesn’t work with large text size
Seems like a good app, I’m excited to use it, but it’s unusable with increased text size for those of us who are farsighted — have to change your text size settings, and find your glasses, to use it

Missing a map
There is no map and you can’t search by neighborhood, so this isn’t very useful...
