Response from developer

Hi Yousurf5, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry the onboarding left a negative first impression. The rating request during setup is completely optional—you can simply tap Cancel and continue using the app. It was never intended to block access, but I understand it may have felt that way. We also offer a free Trial for all our users, so you can check if the product fits your needs. BabyScroll is a subscription-based app with a free trial, which allows us to keep it completely ad-free and continue developing new features for parents and their little ones. I appreciate your honest feedback and will keep working to make the first-time experience clearer and more welcoming.

Response from developer

Hi Mamadee904, we are truly sorry to hear you’re having such a stressful experience. We want to clarify how this works to help you get unstuck: As app developers, we have no control over your Apple ID, your billing, or your ability to download other apps. Apple handles all transactions and subscriptions directly. If your account is restricted, it’s usually because there is a pending payment or a verification issue within your Apple ID settings that Apple is managing. To resolve this and get your refund, please visit reportaproblem.apple.com. You can also contact Apple Support directly; they are the only ones with the authority to fix account-level billing issues or process a refund for you. We are parents ourselves trying to build something helpful, and we promise there is no "trap" in the app. We sincerely hope you can get this sorted out with Apple quickly!

Won’t stay locked

So it charged me $24 for an annual plan that I didn’t want for a useless app! I would also have chosen the monthly option, I’m switch off iPhone. After following initial instructions, that were annoying, it makes you do it every time!? What parent has time for that? I’m trying to use this app as a quick temporary distraction for my infant. And it’s hard to navigate in the app, or perhaps confusing.

Hi Bean 24 4578, we are so sorry for the frustration. Being a parent is hard enough without tech headaches! Regarding the charge: Apple manages all subscriptions and payments directly. If you meant to select the monthly option or would like a refund, please visit reportaproblem.apple.com—they are usually very quick to help. Regarding the "annoying" setup: We hear you! Apple’s security requires that initial setup, but the good news is you only have to do it one time. Once it's ready, you can lock the screen for your infant in literally 2 seconds just by triple-clicking the side button. We made a quick video to show you exactly how to make it that fast - please look for a video setup instructions in the app. We’d love the chance to make this right. If you’re willing to give it another shot with the triple-click shortcut, it should be the "quick distraction" you were looking for!

Absolutely not with the Face ID

It seems like a cute app, but I’m not adding Face ID onto my phone to get it to lock, especially for something with a paid subscription.

Response from developer

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback! We completely understand being cautious about your privacy and Face ID—it’s important to stay in control of your device. We’d love to clarify that the "lock" feature you're seeing is actually Guided Access, a standard Apple system tool designed specifically for parents. It’s a wonderful lifesaver that keeps little ones from accidentally leaving the app or deleting photos, and it’s much more flexible than it first appears: - Face ID is 100% Optional: You do not have to use Face ID. You can set a simple 4-digit PIN code specifically for Guided Access instead. - Unique Security: This PIN can be completely different from your main iPhone passcode for extra peace of mind. - Ease of Use: Once you’ve done the initial setup, you can enable or disable the lock in just a few seconds by triple-clicking your side button. We’ve integrated this because it’s the safest way to provide a "baby lock" on iOS. We’d love for you to give it another try with a PIN code! If you need any help with the setup, please reach out to us via Messenger at https://facebook.com/babyscroll Best regards, The Development Team
