Decent App
I’ve tried a few apps, but Baklava feels different — in the best way. It’s not just another dating app; it truly understands Arab culture, values, and the little things that make us who we are. The profiles feel genuine, the vibe is warm and respectful, and I actually enjoy spending time on it.
Rigged App Incredibly frustrating experience – active profiles are not shown and support ghosted me
Rigged App!! I used this app diligently during my trial period, swiping actively and leaving thoughtful comments. Previously, my profile would regularly get a few views a week, but as soon as I started using the app heavily, my profile views dropped to absolute zero for weeks. It feels like the system deliberately buried my profile simply because I was being active. To make matters worse, their customer support is nonexistent. I reported this issue to them and they completely failed to get back to me within their promised 48-hour policy window. I reached out a second time after a week, and it has now been two full weeks with zero response. Absolute radio silence and a horrible experience altogether.

Worst timing
App keeps crashing. It’s been like this for hours now. Ery upsetting considering the fact that you are actually trying to have a conversation with a match. So frustrating, not renewing my subscription.
Trashiest app
The concept was there in the beginning but Baklava became like Tinder & Hinge but the Arab version of it. Quality of users are beyond trash and not intentional. How the algorithm highlights men on the eligible section is absolute garbage cuz they are far from it. That definitely needs to be worked on! The app does not take reporting profiles seriously at all! The app should have the option to create a profile for besties separately than relationships. There s a glitch there for sure! Also the subscriptions are super expensive! The Gold subscription doesn’t really work and the new update/view of the app is very confusing for the likes received. I don’t think it shows the other profiles that you liked so you don’t get a match and stay on the app subscribed longer. Please improve! It was good in the beginning but not anymore.

Spammy notifications
Reminders to constantly open the app even when I have everything turned off. Literally uninstalled it for this reason
Notifications are lies
It’ll send a notification saying “omar liked your profile” then you open the app, and no one named Omar liked your profile.
Fake accounts
Lots of fake accounts on there. And what’s actually bothering is the price of the subscription is insanely expensive!!
Shadow ban
If you're a man on this app, good luck, you'll get reported for "harassment" then banned, and if you contact their support, they will not hear your case, instead will say decision is final
Location is needed miles/km isn’t enough
Everyone asks me about where I live. I think location needs to be visible to users. Although I think inactive matches should be deleted so that people have a motivation to connect faster

Be mindful of the Arab men on this app. Some of them will try to scare you off and shame you. I had a creep basically threaten to turn my pics into AI & turn me into a OF model only bc I rejected him because we didn't share the same beliefs. I had to file a police report on him because he's extremely weird. This ruined my experience & I deleted my acc as a whole. I know it's not the company's fault because I didn't report it atomically but I wish I did. I'm just saying becareful over all. Arab woman you know how crazy some Arab men can be. The myths are true. I loved the app other than that horrible experience.

It’s buggy and unstable and the premium versions are way too expensive for the benefits. The quality and quantity of users is not there yet.

I am a Lebanese American guy. I enjoy the Baklava app. I love that it shows women from different Arab/Mideastern countries, and allies. Couple improvements would be to show where the women are located next to their careers (not just how many miles away), if they have kids/pets or not. Just more details about them. Thank you.

Great App, small improvements needed
This App is great and much needed… I wish the profiles were sorted based on distance, closer to furthest away. Also, wish that the distance was displayed on the front page next to the name, similar to age.
Doesn’t remove your account
Doesn’t remove your account when u delete the app. People can still see it unless you delete the account explicitly. Most of the profiles are dead
