Absolutely great app. All the features, central control with local device caching for rock solid reliability on stage, you can make it work around your workflows, reusable set lists, music, notation, midi files, gig booming, calendar, info sharing, different views and music per person. It’s the ultimate band app, much more than just set lists. It runs our bands world and has taken a massive load of me with organisation. You’ve tried the rest, try the best. Love it!

Amazing app
This is an amazingly consistent, maintained, reliable and feature packed app for performing musicians. I started out using setlist maker to make band sets back when it was a new app. I can’t believe how much functionality keeps getting added as the app has grown into what is now bandhelper. I’ve used it for solo gigging and many bands. I have also recently integrated it as a tool for teaching so that I can easily organize and keep track of songs I’m working on with my students. There are powerful features of the app using midi triggers I have yet to explore or take advantage of but it is nice to know they are there if I ever need them. The songbook portability, easy transpose, ability to add recordings to each song, band setlist-sync, and even the newly added tuner are essentials to how I work everyday as a musician. I recommend this app to any serious musician who doesn’t mind taking the time to import their songbook. Once you’re in, you’ll wonder what you ever did without it.

Get an IT degree
Just downloaded on advice from my partner. There needs to be some sort of tutorial to even begin to understand how to operate this app. I’ll stick with ForScore.
Very powerful, step learning curve
I’ve been using Bandhelper since the beginning. It is extremely powerful. I currently play drums in an 80’s cover band and have automated scrolling lyrics, reference songs, notes, backing tracks, charts and more attached to each song. Building set lists is a breeze. I use the schedule feature and use the checklist function every gig…it has saved me multiple times.
I have also use it for heavily charted bands and shows. Works great.
With the amazing and useful features comes a steep learning curve and complexity. There are several tutorials that help. It doesn’t take long to set up set lists. But be ready to spend lots of hours to utilize BandHelper fully.
I hate the scrolling features. I spend tons of time to get lyrics to scroll correctly. There are other paging methods, but being a singing drum triggering the paging while playing has not worked for me.
Arlo is an amazing developer and his team is very responsive to technical issues when you use their processes which for me is time consuming.

A great app
Wanting to get lyrics and chords onto a lyric prompter i chose Bandhelper as i found it easy to use, although it has some quirky ways of working. It has far more than i will ever need and i struggle with a few processes but i just need time to adjust my way of thinking.
I would 100% recommend it and yes i tried other apps before paying the subscription.

This is where you need to be
I progressed from set using list maker to BandHelper and I do value this product line for the following reasons:
1. The midi control features allow me to seamlessly set up my pedalboard on the fly as each song is selected. I am able to use my looper unit as a backing track repository whilst being enabled through my beatbuddy pedal and both being controlled with midi from an iPad.
2. The interface for song library management is very intuitive once the familiarization cycle is over with. The use of ‘Projects’ allows for segregation of content for other ‘bands’ a musician might be part of. There are choices in how lyrics can be incorporated into each song, from pdfs to cutting and pasting directly from an external source. There are a myriad of features to enhance the operation and visual presentation of any song selection. This is indeed a layered and well thought out system; you use what you need.
3. The ability to share changes and content with band members instantly is marvelous and that tedious emailing, messaging and trying to update everyone in a band is now gone with BandHelper.
I could list many more reasons on why this is a great product and the product specs can give insight to those features. The point I am making here is that if you just want a simple “display the setlist and view the lyrics”, there are programs that will do that for you. However, if you want a comprehensive package that will do whatever you need it to do, then BandHelper is totally worth considering.

If you’re a band looking for an app to help organize your live sets and a whole lot more surrounding your band management, this is the app you’re looking for. Nothing else comes close.
My band exclusively plays covers and we have a pretty big library. We play around 50 shows a year. We have gone through a few different apps looking for something that met our needs and BandHelper is the only one that checked all the boxes.
Easy to add songs and categorize them in multiple different ways. Add chords or other notes in addition to lyrics. Create setlists easily and make new setlists from previous ones. Edit setlists live during a show and the ability for each member to live sync. Auto scroll with midi foot controllers.
And honestly, there’s a lot more with higher tier subscriptions that we don’t necessarily need but other bands could absolutely benefit from.
I’ve also had 2 interactions with the developer in our ~2 years using this app and they’ve always been prompt, attentive, and provided clear solutions to any issues we ran into.

Die App ist sehr gut an die eigenen Bedürfnisse anpassbar, dadurch in der Struktur zu Anfang vielleicht in der Bedienung etwas komplizierter. Dazu gibt es einen sehr schnellen und kompetenten Support.

I have 2 bands, solo, duo, and over 600 songs in the system. This is the perfect tool to share songs with band mates and occasional substitutes. It makes my shows better! And the tech support is amazing!

I use it to send patch changes to multiple keyboards through an IPad via the midi preset function. I also added a foot switch which lets me advance through presets and songs hand free. Support is great as well. Arlo the developer responds quickly and is always helpful. Get it!
Terrible
This is not intuitive at all. I spent half hour on it and still could not figure out how to load lyrics . All I wanted was a setlist and lyrics. Instead I got a whole load of nonsense about the songs that I don’t need. I am not sure why the others rated it highly.

If you don't need fields like Key, Tempo, etc., you can scroll past them and go directly to the Lyrics field when adding a song.
Best keeps getting better
I’ve been using BandHelper for the last three years and I love it. I’m a solo singer using backing tracks and midi fx. As well as that, I use the software to manage my bookings diary, which pulls through to my website, saving loads of time. I also use it to manage my finances. BandHelper does have a bit of a learning curve but with the help of the tutorial videos, the community and the occasional bit of support from the developer, you can soon get the hang of it.
Regarding the developer, Arlo is quick to respond to support requests and is always adding new, often requested features to BandHelper. I can’t recommend BandHelper enough. I have even converted long-time friends and fellow musicians who have been able to see the benefits.

BandHelper ist vermutlich die vollständigste Software zur Unterstützung von Bands, die zur Zeit erhältlich ist.
Trotz der riesigen Anzahl an Features ist alles übersichtlich und gut strukturiert angeordnet, das Forum hilft bei Fragen gerne weiter, und der wichtigste Punkt von allen:
Sollte tatsächlich der unwahrscheinliche Fall eintreten, dass mal eine Funktion fehlen sollte oder nicht ganz so funktioniert, wie man es gerade für seinen speziellen Workflow benötigt – eine kurze Nachricht an Arlo und innerhalb weniger Stunden gibt es Tipps und Tricks wie das Problem zu lösen ist. In meinem Fall hat er sogar innerhalb von ein paar Tagen das noch fehlende Feature in die Software integriert, obwohl ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht mal eine Lizenz gekauft hatte.
Solch ein super Produkt mit so einem grandiosen Support findet man heutzutage kaum noch.

The Best!
I have been using Band Helper for years, in various bands and now with a worship team. As an IT professional myself, I may have a bit more of a discerning eye for apps than most people. Band Helper is a great app, for sure, but what makes it really great is the developer. I recently had a fairly esoteric issue with the transpose function on one of my iPads which is on an earlier version than my other iPads. I submitted a help ticket, and the response I received was terrific. Every day, sometimes several times a day, I would get responses as we were working thru the issue which was resolved in about a week. So refreshing to see a developer genuinely interested in supporting their product! 5 stars for sure! I will be a Band Helper user for life! Did I mention the app is terrific and full featured?? :)
