Each attempt to write a review the application crashes. Worst app ever. Always, always has a glitch or an error message when I try using it. I’m a chill person and nothing sends me into a rage quite like the BOTJ app. Whoever created it needs to think about a career change.
Convenient!
Love being able to see, monitor, and change my accounts on an app. Saves me trips to the bank all the time!

Constantly has me re logging in
Re setting up my Face ID
always forcing me to log in again to see my funds

This apps lack of usability alone is making me want to choose another bank that’s more ip to date with the modern age

HORRIBLE
This app is so lack luster > probably the worst app on my phone
It never saves my login info
And half the time won’t let us log in with the correct info
Face ID gets set up
But it never sticks and I have to re set it up Again (after entering my password again… or resetting my password)

Need more access and options
Not enough options compared to other banks. Mortgages can not be viewed in the app or online. No option for reoccurring transfers.

Worst bank EVER!!! Can’t even access bank account even after an update. Withdraw all monies in all accounts. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Online banking is so easy and efficient for every day use.

iPhone 8 Plus
I recently upgraded to the iPhone 8plus. In order to make the app work you have to add it to your profile on Bank of the James first from a computer and then it works just fine!
Touch ID not working!!
Touch ID not working on iPhone. 😡 It worked once but then nothing.

Was very apprehensive after reading reviews. Works like a charm! Pleasantly surprised.
No happy. The bank has no solutions
App doesn't work and no help from the bank. They do not know either. This app worked great for a period of time then stopped working. Very disappointed.
App Crash workaround
If your app isn't working (closing as soon as you try to open) try this workaround: The user work-around for this bug is to change a setting on the phone per the following steps:
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Increase Contrast -> Darken Colors -> (Disable)

App doesn't even work so now I can't check my bank funds. Switched over from the old app expecting cool new stuff and I was let down .. They had one job.
Would rate if it would work
I have only selected one star because it won't let me select 0. I LOVED touch banking and have not had banking on my phone since the day this was forced upon me. It will not work on my iPhone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times--still won't work. Went to developer website that is listed on App Store. It shows Bank of the James. I call them. They tell me to call Apple. I call Apple they say pay $30 for support. I go to app help which takes me to "fiserv" which has absolutely no contact info. If you have an iPhone this app is WORTHLESS and everyone involved will not help you. I miss phone banking and will be considering changing banks
