A no-nonsense Tool
Barcodes Matter is an excellent little app for that purpose. Its clean, easy to use and intuitive interface makes it a cinch to add new devices to the database as well as accessing the barcode or matter ID when necessary. The dev has added some really nice functionality with auto-adding tags and auto-complete where appropriate.
You may think “I don’t need an app for that, every device has its barcode on it already”. Manufacturers love to put these on the back of devices, or inside a battery cover, or as a patch of un-inked plastic that’s practically invisible so the device looks nice. Now tell yourself that again when you’re stuck up a ladder trying to get your phone to focus on the barely visible barcode on the bulb that needs re-pairing at 11 O’clock at night. Or when trying to pair the bulb that’s in a fancy light fitting that takes you 20 minutes to take apart because the barcode is partly obscured.
If you have IoT smart home devices, just do yourself a favour and grab this app already. You’ll be really happy you did.

Great App for Matter Codes
Response from developer
Hi, it already has iCloud sync between devices, should just work magically in the background. Please get in touch via the help page if you have issues and I’ll do my best to help resolve them.
No HomeKit sync
Response from developer
Wow thanks for the 1 star review, I can happily make it sync HomeKit like you suggest, but you will be paying the $2 app cost every month as a subscription just like HomePass. It was never designed to do this and nowhere does it say it syncs with devices already in HomeKit. Native Matter and HomeKit support refers in context to Barcode scanning and storing.
Best QR-Code app for matter and HomeKit
Einfach Top
Danke für diese TOLLE App
Just what I needed
Good start

You can set a biometric lock using native iOS, long press on the Barcodes Matter icon and choose "Require Biometrics" this will do exactly what you require. Scanning on the screen does work, the barcode contains the same data as the one on the device, also for Matter device you can simply tap the barcode to initiate pairing. If you can't scan a code then please get in touch using the options in the app and I will look in to it. It's likely an issue with the barcode you scanned, or something unusual about the data in it.
