Great app

So refreshing to see a great app without subscriptions

Smart Wings Blinds

This app is really great! I’m a first time “Matter Over Thread” user and this has been so helpful in documenting my new Smart Wings Blinds in Apple HomeKit. You can tell this developer is passionate about this app and you can follow his updates and comments on Reddit which are very helpful. Highly recommend!

Fantastic App

This is a great app! Well laid out and just works! Much better than those overpriced alternatives! And no subscription! What I nice change! Only suggestion I’d have is the export/print located under help. Didn’t discover it until I went to help to find print! Otherwise fantastic well done.

Response from developer

Glad you found it, you can also long press on the barcode of a device to get an individual Print Menu.

Stable and fast

While this will not automatically show your devices from HomeKit (so you start with names and rooms already organized), it is stable and fast which is more than I can say of alternative apps. So I did the painstaking work of migrating 32 Matter and HomeKit devices in complete with model names and serial numbers (which again could be pulled from HomeKit) and other than being annoying, it’s a good app with solid backup. Now just to see if I can add another 32 Philips Hue devices…

Thank you for the kind words, appreciate the review.

Great App for Matter Codes

I’ve tried a number of apps for scanning and storing Matter device codes, and in my view this one is the best. I particularly like the ability to export the codes to PDF and ability to export and import the database in JSON form. As a wish-list item, would love to see a future update that supports iCloud data storage to transparently switch between my phone and iPad, but even without that this is still a great app. Thanks and appreciation to the developer!

Hi, it already has iCloud sync between devices, should just work magically in the background. Please get in touch via the help page if you have issues and I’ll do my best to help resolve them.

No HomeKit sync

I thought this would work like HomePass and present my devices that are in Apple Home so they’re already named and organized, and then I’d just add the barcodes. Nope. You have to add each device completely manually. “Native Matter and HomeKit support” must mean something else, because it didn’t mean that.

Wow thanks for the 1 star review, I can happily make it sync HomeKit like you suggest, but you will be paying the $2 app cost every month as a subscription just like HomePass. It was never designed to do this and nowhere does it say it syncs with devices already in HomeKit. Native Matter and HomeKit support refers in context to Barcode scanning and storing.

Best QR-Code app for matter and HomeKit

Nice app with a lot of useful features, and the killer feature „Tap to Pair“. I hope there will be more fields. For the feature request I sent you a separate Mail.

Einfach Top

Genau das was ich gesucht habe. Einfach zu bedienen und nicht so eingeschränkt wie HomePass. Was schön wäre wenn die Seriennummer der Geräte auch gleich übernommen werden würden.
Danke für diese TOLLE App

Just what I needed

Lets me keep track of Apple Home devices in one place if I need to pair them again. Supports export to PDF as well for backup. Highly recommended.

Good start

I really enjoy using this app—it’s lightweight, intuitive, and gets the job done efficiently. However, I’d love to see two additional features to enhance the experience. First, adding built-in biometric protection, like Face ID, would provide an extra layer of security. Second, enabling the app to store and scan the device’s barcode graphic directly from the phone screen would be a great improvement. For example, when pairing a new device saved in Barcodes Matter, I expected to scan the displayed barcode, but I had to use the numerical code instead. It’s a minor inconvenience, but supporting barcode scanning from the screen would make the process smoother. Overall, a solid app with room for these enhancements!

You can set a biometric lock using native iOS, long press on the Barcodes Matter icon and choose "Require Biometrics" this will do exactly what you require. Scanning on the screen does work, the barcode contains the same data as the one on the device, also for Matter device you can simply tap the barcode to initiate pairing. If you can't scan a code then please get in touch using the options in the app and I will look in to it. It's likely an issue with the barcode you scanned, or something unusual about the data in it.
