Not great for NYT digital replica

PROS: Can buy single issues of NYT. CONS: Formatting is wonky for reading supplements included with digital replica. Example: NYT Sunday Magazine and Book Review have a square page format but are compressed to fit the elongated newspaper page size, making all text and photos compressed. Content is sometimes incomplete—one Sunday edition included a Book Review section that was from two weeks prior. Possibly a NYT issue, not B&N, but no one in either Customer Service dept. is interested in fixing these problems.

I want to completely switch from kindle to nook but..

Apparently I can’t side load pdfs into the nook app. From shipping to limited app, Barnes and Noble shoots themselves in the foot every opportunity at getting new customers. It took me 2 and half weeks with expedited shipping to get a dungeons and dragons game I ordered from them. Give me a reason to spend with you ffs. I’m tired of giving Amazon money.

Works Well But…

I enjoy listening to the Audiobooks and the access to smaller independently published authors e-books and that I get to collect more stamps through this app for my B&N account. But I have issues with the way titles are displayed in the search preview and in the information page of a book. When the title is longer than the allowed space there is no way to see the entire title without buying, or adding to the wishlist. There should be a way to expand the title in order to have the proper information (eg. series’ orders) it would significantly improve the users experience looking for books.

Confusing

I only have one magazine I subscribed to for the nook. And I cannot easily know whether the new addition is out I have no clue. This is the most confusing app I’ve ever encountered. God, I wish Amazon still had TV Guide for Kindle.

More processing power

I’ll start by saying I probably test the limits of this app, 5000+ books and several hundred files and yes everything is downloaded because I’ve been burned multiple times when the app craps out and doesn’t resolve for days. But I feel like having an app that can run a search, load downloaded content, assign or remove something from a shelf shouldn’t cause the app to freeze up on every other action and that’s what is happening constantly. Please fix.

5/5

I got a Real nook and I found out they have a iOS version of this app. Thanks Barnes & Noble

Poor

Not working correctly

PDF

App even support pdf. It is great experience to view pdf file in this app.

App loses my place in book

The app, on particular annotations, will send me To the beginning of chapters and thus lose my place In the book.

I have to create a bookmark first, every time I want to click and read an annotated note, so that I don’t lose my place. Frustrating.

Useless for textbook studying

Needs to support writing on pages for textbook studying

It’s great when it works?

This app constantly gets stuck on the load screen - says loading, then 100%, then gets stuck there. It was fine but now seems stuck permanently

Nook app

Love the app so far just wish could buy books in the barns and noble app instead of online

Why so long for help? Its been 2 weeks , and I keep on receiving email’s saying the same thing :

I have been a nook app user for over 18 years; I have hundreds of e-books purchases from Barnes & Noble. Lately, after e-book purchases I have experienced extreme difficulties downloading the titles. To try to resolve the challenge myself, I deleted my app and then reinstalled ; now none of my e-books will download and I get error messages; when I call the one 800 nook help line, I am informed that it could take between 1 to 2 weeks for me to receive help: very very disappointing since I purchased those books and now can’t have them because there is an app challenge. Meanwhile emails from app support are repetition and useless

Not working well enough

Every time I exit the app and re-enter, it goes back to the default dark mode which I don’t want. Also, the page numbers in the app don’t match the page numbers in the book.

A good reader

The app works well and is easy to use.

Wow

This book kept me hooked, and guessing and unable to put it down. I really enjoyed the story line and the roller coaster ride with it, I would recommend

Poor audiobook player

When opening the audiobook, it doesn’t sync well to the previous position even if this is the only device it’s being played on. It goes back a chapter or two, and I have to figure out where I was. It’s a lot of lost time and aggravation. I do not have this issue on any of the other audiobook platforms. Once I finish the books I purchased, I will no longer use it for audiobooks.

What a beautiful book..

Ann Patchett is the best.

App still won’t work

App always takes forever to get past load screen and most of the time crashes out instead. Even after the updates that were to fix bugs it’s still glitchy and buggy!

Great

Amazing, and easy to use. Wish it had dark mode and was able to change font size. The pages and fonts are a bit small.
