Garbage interface, totally ruined the app

I was a very early ebook adopter, and at that time, the only option was Amazon. So in the 20ish years since then, I’ve spent literally tens of thousands of dollars on ebooks. That makes it very hard to walk away in a post DRM world.

The app updates have, over the last year or so, been much more focused on *selling* books rather than offering a platform to read books you already bought (kids, I promise, there was a time when you could not even buy books on the Apple kindle app).

The ads and algo on the front page means that I can’t even open the front page and see my purchases. Worse, I’m a librarian, so books I’ve looked up for work show on my personal feed because Amazon keeps mixing up my work account and personal account because I access them on the same device (just looked up! Not purchased! But the algo doesn’t care). And when I *do* get to my library, I have to first click “downloaded” so I can see which books I haven’t finished yet, then sort by recent. Every time. No option for default settings. And then if I want to switch between books and have an accurate take on recency, I have to close and refresh the app

So after a while of this, I turned off the device setting that would allow automatic app updates. Kindle is still updating, completely bypassing my device settings

If I could magically switch all my books to another platform, I would. I can’t. So I’m moving away from ebooks and going back to ink and paper. Just a terrible experience and a terrible way to treat long time customers

Cutting out

I have this app for years but every time you up date the app there is more glitches and it’s frustrating and it cuts out while I’m reading

Latest iPad update

Why is it a perfectly functioning app is updated & made awful. Whoever thought the so called improvements were a good idea was wrong. I love reading books on the Kindle app on my iPad but I don’t like the app in its current state. Sorry but I’d like it back like it was before.

A “STURDY” Book

There are, in my opinion, no superfluous words in this book. I read it slowly in order to not miss something. Everything written here is important to training routines, to diet, and to behaviour outside of your gym workouts.
I am a fortunate man. I, in total ignorance, joined One Family Fitness 2 years ago. I had never been in a gym before in my life and here I was at 78 years joining a gym. With pure luck I took out a membership in the best gym I could have selected.
Jen became my coach almost right away. She asked Dino to assign her to me; another fortunate thing.
I didn’t realize until recently that I was being trained in Powerlifting using the 5 pillars described in this book.
Now the things she tells me and encourages me to do make so much more sense.
The Build System works very well for me. I am never pushed beyond what I can achieve. My shortcomings are nutrition and movement. The book tells you how to deal with these two pillars.
If you are a powerlifter or weightlifter this book was written for you.

Not recording my streak

I was on a pretty lengthy streak and it did not record the last two days.
