What's New in Barsys AI

1.1.1

August 9, 2026

Keep your Shaker Pro up to date, right from the app. FIRMWARE UPDATES OVER BLUETOOTH Your Shaker Pro now tells the app which firmware it's running, and you can install the latest version without cables or a computer. A progress dial shows exactly how far along the install is, and a few bar jokes keep you company while it works. READY TO POUR THE MOMENT IT FINISHES The app re-zeroes your Shaker Pro's scale automatically once an update completes, so you can make a drink straight away without recalibrating anything yourself. RESET SCALE A new Control Center tile re-zeroes the weight sensor if your Shaker Pro ever refuses to pour with a red light. FASTER AND STEADIER Canceling a drink now responds immediately instead of pausing first. Plus reliability fixes throughout for Shaker Pro connections.

Horrible

The machine is not reading the cup that it comes with, but it reads my mason jar. I’ve only used it maybe twice and it’s not what I thought it would be.

Response from developer

Hi Brentney — thank you for giving Barsys a try, and I'm sorry the first pours haven't lived up to what you expected. That's on us to make right. What you're describing usually comes down to the glass sensor: it detects the weight of the vessel on the base, and the included cup is light enough that it can miss it if the cup isn't sitting centered on the platform — while a heavier mason jar registers every time. Two quick things to try: make sure the cup is empty and centered on the base before you start a pour, and check that your device is on the latest firmware (the app will prompt you under Control Center if an update is available). If it still won't detect the included cup after that, please reach out to us at support@barsys.com and mention this review — we'll get you sorted, whether that's a fix or a replacement cup. We'd love the chance to turn this into the experience you signed up for. 🍸 — The Barsys Team

Learning pains early on.

Not fully functional most of the time. Frequently loses Bluetooth connectivity but still getting used to it.

Response from developer

Hi — thanks for sticking with it through the early bumps, and sorry the Bluetooth connection has been dropping on you. That's not the experience we want, and it's usually fixable. A few things that help: keep your phone within a few feet of the device while crafting, make sure the app is on the latest version (we've shipped several updates recently that reconnect to your Barsys automatically when the app opens, instead of making you re-pair), and if a drop does happen mid-session, just reopen the app — it should pick the device right back up. If the drops keep happening after updating, email us at support@barsys.com with your device model and we'll dig into it with you directly. The learning curve should flatten fast from here — and we'd love to hear how it's going once it does. — The Barsys Team

First time

Craft drink found on line worked perfectly 🍸

Bad for Custom Drinks

If you want to save your own recipes in the app - don’t. Any attempt to upload a photo freezes the app, there is no place for notes or instructions, and they took away the features to select glass type, ice type, garnish, and additional mixers that require drops/dashes/barspoons. Worse than the previous app.

Response from developer

Hi — thank you for laying this out so specifically; this is exactly the feedback we build from, and you weren't wrong on any of it. The good news: the photo freeze is fixed in our latest update — full-resolution photos were overwhelming the save process, and they're now processed properly, so adding a picture to your recipe won't lock the app anymore. Please update to the newest version and give it another shot. We've also been rebuilding the custom drink experience based on feedback like yours — richer recipe details (garnish and finishing touches among them) are part of the update we're rolling out now, with more of what you're missing from the previous app on the roadmap right behind it. If you update and anything still falls short, email support@barsys.com and mention this review — we'd genuinely value a power user like you pressure-testing the new version. We want the app to be the best part of owning a Barsys, not the reason you miss the old one. — The Barsys Team

Unable to log in on iPad

Downloaded app on iPhone works, logged in. I don’t want to be limited to having to have my phone near me, so I downloaded the app on my iPad and when I try to log in I received an error message unable to login. I have removed the app and reinstalled it same thing, I waited for the newest update, still unable to login in. If this is unable to be used with my iPad I will be disappointed with the purchase I have made.

Response from developer

Hi Rufus — sorry about the wall you hit, and you're right to expect the app to work on your iPad; not being tethered to your phone is the whole point. Since you wrote this, we shipped an update specifically focused on iPad: the app now runs as a first-class iPad experience — layouts built for the bigger screen, and the sign-in issues on iPad addressed along with it. Please update to the latest version from the App Store on your iPad and try logging in again with the same account you use on your iPhone. If you still see a login error after updating, email us at support@barsys.com with the exact message on the screen and we'll get you in — we won't leave you stuck. Your Barsys should work from whichever device is in your hand. — The Barsys Team
