Horrible
Response from developer
Hi Brentney — thank you for giving Barsys a try, and I'm sorry the first pours haven't lived up to what you expected. That's on us to make right. What you're describing usually comes down to the glass sensor: it detects the weight of the vessel on the base, and the included cup is light enough that it can miss it if the cup isn't sitting centered on the platform — while a heavier mason jar registers every time. Two quick things to try: make sure the cup is empty and centered on the base before you start a pour, and check that your device is on the latest firmware (the app will prompt you under Control Center if an update is available). If it still won't detect the included cup after that, please reach out to us at support@barsys.com and mention this review — we'll get you sorted, whether that's a fix or a replacement cup. We'd love the chance to turn this into the experience you signed up for. 🍸 — The Barsys Team
Learning pains early on.
Response from developer
Hi — thanks for sticking with it through the early bumps, and sorry the Bluetooth connection has been dropping on you. That's not the experience we want, and it's usually fixable. A few things that help: keep your phone within a few feet of the device while crafting, make sure the app is on the latest version (we've shipped several updates recently that reconnect to your Barsys automatically when the app opens, instead of making you re-pair), and if a drop does happen mid-session, just reopen the app — it should pick the device right back up. If the drops keep happening after updating, email us at support@barsys.com with your device model and we'll dig into it with you directly. The learning curve should flatten fast from here — and we'd love to hear how it's going once it does. — The Barsys Team

Bad for Custom Drinks
Response from developer
Hi — thank you for laying this out so specifically; this is exactly the feedback we build from, and you weren't wrong on any of it. The good news: the photo freeze is fixed in our latest update — full-resolution photos were overwhelming the save process, and they're now processed properly, so adding a picture to your recipe won't lock the app anymore. Please update to the newest version and give it another shot. We've also been rebuilding the custom drink experience based on feedback like yours — richer recipe details (garnish and finishing touches among them) are part of the update we're rolling out now, with more of what you're missing from the previous app on the roadmap right behind it. If you update and anything still falls short, email support@barsys.com and mention this review — we'd genuinely value a power user like you pressure-testing the new version. We want the app to be the best part of owning a Barsys, not the reason you miss the old one. — The Barsys Team
Unable to log in on iPad
Response from developer
Hi Rufus — sorry about the wall you hit, and you're right to expect the app to work on your iPad; not being tethered to your phone is the whole point. Since you wrote this, we shipped an update specifically focused on iPad: the app now runs as a first-class iPad experience — layouts built for the bigger screen, and the sign-in issues on iPad addressed along with it. Please update to the latest version from the App Store on your iPad and try logging in again with the same account you use on your iPhone. If you still see a login error after updating, email us at support@barsys.com with the exact message on the screen and we'll get you in — we won't leave you stuck. Your Barsys should work from whichever device is in your hand. — The Barsys Team

Hi, thanks for flagging this, and sorry about the splashing and the false "not on a flat surface" message with your Shaker Pro. Our team is actively working on a fix for this issue, and we'll update you here as soon as it's resolved.
Set Up and Recipe Search Horror
Response from developer
Hi, and thank you for the honest feedback — sorry the setup and scanning let you down. We hear you, and our latest update directly fixes all three: ingredient photo scanning now reliably recognizes and adds your bottles and mixers, the AI bartender responds properly to recipe prompts (including the suggested ones), and Coaster 2.0 setup is smoother with guided reconnect. Please update and give it another try — and if anything still feels off, email support@barsys.com so we can make it right. Cheers!
Very much pleased

Hey MarcSift888, Yes, you can search for recipes, cocktail kits, and ingredients in the Barsys app. On the Explore page, you can open the Recipes section and use the search bar at the top of the recipe page to look up any drink recipe. You can also search for cocktail kits from the Cocktail Kits section within the Explore page using the search bar at the top. To search for ingredients, go to the My Bar page and tap Add Ingredient. This will open the ingredient search option, where your keyboard will appear and you can search for any ingredient you want to add to your bar. You can also customize drinks in two ways. First, you can open any recipe, scroll down to the ingredients, and use the plus or minus buttons next to each ingredient to adjust the quantity and create a customized version of that drink. Second, you can create your own custom drink based on the ingredients you already have in My Bar. Tap the plus icon in the top-right corner, select the ingredients you want to use, and adjust the quantity for each one to build your own recipe.

Hey Trice09, For the Coaster to register the glass properly, please wait until the app prompts you to place the glass on the Coaster. If you place the glass on the Coaster before the prompt appears, it may not detect or register the glass correctly. Once the app gives you the instruction, place the glass on the Coaster and continue with the drink-making process.

Configuring your device it’s like pulling teeth

Sorry to hear setup gave you trouble. Which device are you on — Coaster 2.0, Shaker Pro, or Barsys 360? And which step gave you the most grief? Email contact@barsys.com with the details and someone on the team will walk you through it.

Thanks for trying us out! Quick tip — ask BarBot "what can I make from my bar" and it'll filter to drinks you can pour right now from your bottles. If you have other ideas or run into anything, email us at contact@barsys.com.
