About

CAPTURE WITHOUT WAITING Take the photo without waiting for a better GPS fix. Bearing selects a location measurement around the recorded capture time and displays its reported accuracy. Each record is labelled Evidence grade (within ±25 m and 15 seconds) or Below grade. Touch and hold the shutter to average readings while standing still. Set the flash to Auto, On or Off. A vibration and VoiceOver confirm each capture's grade. Where available, records include coordinates, altitude, camera direction and tilt, address, grid codes and sun position. Add project references, operator names, notes and custom fields. Capture time stays with the record on export. Reports explain its timing source and location accuracy.

What's New in Bearing

2.1.1 (10)

October 12, 2026

- Flash control: Auto, On or Off, in the camera bar. - Project, operator and stamp detail are remembered between sessions. - The live location label now matches saved records: Evidence grade or Below grade. - Precision hold has a Cancel button and needs a slightly longer press. - A vibration and a VoiceOver announcement confirm each capture and its grade. - Imported photos no longer show in evidence-grade green in Places. - Adding fields to several records starts blank and asks before clearing anything. - Faster record screen; the Capture Record PDF now builds in the background. - Open Bearing Camera from Siri, Shortcuts or the Action button always lands on the camera.
