Finally, a Canadian retirement tool that gets the tax details right
I've tried other planing apps and a couple of spreadsheets, and they all fall apart in the calculations. Beaver FP doesn't. I modelled my spouse’s and my drawdown side by side — RRSP-to-RRIF conversion, pension income splitting, the spousal age election — and the numbers matched what we worked out by hand. That's the part that sold me: it's not a toy that spits out a "4% rule" number or shows only graphs, it actually models the mechanics and you can see the numbers and calculations and edit most of them.
The Mac version is a proper native app, not a stretched-out phone screen. I like the dark mode too. The PDF report it generates is something I could actually follow. I would like it to store the plans for me in the cloud, but I can export and import them and that works well.

Easy to use and not expensive
I found the tool easy to use but you can drill down into the details if you want. It was pretty reasonably priced for such a big tool
