Great software, inept implementation.
The 4TB model is woefully under powered for the tasks of importing images and, recognizing faces/places/things. It’s now obvious why Synology offloaded the preview creation to the desktop.
Unfortunately pretty bad sync for IOS
Does not work well for IOS at all. Error 117 keeps happening, it takes HOURS to upload 10+ photos.
It uploads about 90% of the first photo then stops loading and the error 117 comes, after retrying multiple times it does upload, but it’s sufferable.

Works a treat
This does everything I need for a personal cloud replacement! Fairly quick to upload bulk photos and fast to load, if the photo is on the BeePhotos app but isnt on your phone you can save the image. No photo editing but that can be done on your iOS device.

Very good application with a lot of functionalities like on Google Photos but some simple ones are missing like : dark theme, lock folder, favorites.

Widgets wären wirklich eine tolle Idee! Gerne noch mehr Integration in Apple.
No se han sincronizado las fotos y ahora no abre la app…
Después de intentar hacer la sincronización con el BeeStation la app no sincronizó todas las fotos, se cerró y cuando la quiero abrir ya no puedo, se cierra sola sin dar ningún mensaje de error, de las 12.000 fotos y vídeos no se han pasado ni 2.000

Constant errors
I thought this would be perfect solution to my family photo storage. Installation is easy and inviting others is easy as well. Only reason for one star. I always get error code 117 even though I am connected. Same for who I share it with. Then I have to turn the bee station off and back on to get it to backup but that only last for so long before error code 117 comes back. Thought this would be seamless backup solution has been nothing but a nightmare. Looking into alternatives.

Bonne alternative à Google Photos
Pas encore aussi agréable que l’app Photos d’Apple, BeePhotos s’améliore néanmoins rapidement. Merci aux développeurs pour leur engagement dans ce projet !

Gute App, einige Features fehlen jedoch
Ich bin neu bei BeeStation und hoffe, damit mehr Kontrolle über meine Fotos zu bekommen. Mir gefällt die App ganz gut. Die Gesichtserkennung funktioniert gut und vor allem das Teilen von Fotos ist klasse. Man erstellt quasi ein Album der zu teilenden Fotos und kann im Nachhinein noch Fotos hinzufügen, ein Ablaufdatum der Freigabe und Passwörter festlegen.
Was ich allerdings vermisse:
- ein Widget für Fotos des Tages (immer schön, wenn man fast vergessene Momente wiederentdeckt)
- Automatische Rückblicke
- die Möglichkeit Fotos als Favoriten zu markieren um sie schnell wiederzufinden.

Works fine but please add the dark mode
I backed up around 25.000 photos & videos. Took me around two days until everything was backed up from the phone to the BeeStation through the BeePhotos app and until all the files were indexed and showed up in the correct order etc. The app works as expected for me in my daily usage (uploading / downloading images). I only miss the option to export files to an external SSD that is attached to the BeeStation (currently need to download them to my phone and move it to the SSD from there or use the web interface on a PC) and there is no dark mode icon for iOS 18 and the app itself has no dark mode either.
For the use case of backing up images from the phone and watching them the app works fine.

Takes forever
Been trying to upload my content for weeks and still hasn’t completed. When off WiFi or you’re not constantly checking to see if the app is active, it will stop any uploads and the app stops running. Even with me being vigilant trying to keep the app active, it still seems like it will take months to get my photos stored onto the device. Background app refresh is turned on and doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Works just fine but Quickconnect is too slow!
The app works fine to make a copy of all your fotos in Bee station. However, everything needs to be rerouted via the quickconnect relay servers from Synology. With my Synology NAS I can directly up- and download the photos within my network without rerouting via the quickconnect servers. This is a potential predetermined breaking point for the System and may make it unusable in the future if Synology decides to cancel that service. Please reconsider that concept!
