Handy for field personnel
This app is something I have all of my field personnel download onto their phone. Helps eliminate pipe sizing questions and provides basic pressure drop calculation assistance.
Miscalculates flow rates for circuit setters sometimes
Depending on if you reset the values each time correctly this app will give you a completely wrong answer based on the printed charts. Also even when it does seem to calculate correctly, there is still some degree of discrepancy with the printed charts. It has been this way for years, and I finally decided it is time to stop using the app altogether for circuit setter balancing.

iOS 14.5 Incompatibility
This app worked great until I updated my iPhone operating system to iOS version 14.5. I am waiting for the app web developer to fix the bug so I can once again use it.
DO NOT TRUST THIS APP!!!
I have been doing air and water balance for 26 years. Accuracy is critical if you are a water or air balance professional. We use meters that cost thousands of dollars each.
I love innovation, when it actually works....
I would give this app negative stars if possible!
I have exclusively used the hand wheel chart when balancing water flow on circuit setters.
I saw this app about three years ago, downloaded it and was using it for a little bit.
I noticed enormous discrepancies between the GPMโs that were reported on the app and the hand wheel chart.
The original issue was,
when the degree setting was set to zero, you would get a bogus GPM reading no matter what valve size you were using when you input a pressure differential.
I contacted the B&G parts distribution company Dawson and informed them of the problem.
Dawson responded wonderfully and contacted the software designer of the app and had the issue resolved. Dawson was so thankful that they sent me a free sweater. Good business.
After using the app again, a new issue was discovered.
This new issue is very serious and can cause the app to report a GPM reading that is completely different than what it actually is by an extreme amount.
I contacted the Dawson company and reported the issue and this time the response was different, they did not seem that interested in trying to have the issue corrected. Not sure why they had a lack of concern.
It is for this reason that I am not going to report what the actual issue is and I am doing this in hopes that somebody who actually cares will read this and reach out & contact me from either Dawson or the development group so it gets fixed.
The app is a good idea, but itโs no more than that for now until things are fixed.
Those of you that use the app can probably figure out what the bug in the software is yourself & I
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DOUBLE CHECK YOUR GPM READING AGAINST THE WHEEL CHART FOR EVERY MEASUREMENT WHICH DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF USING THE APP ALTOGETHER!!!!

B&G wheel on hand
Love this handy app! I am a NEBB BCP / TAB that works for a large mechanical contractor. I have used this app for years to communicate the GPM flushing requirements, troubleshoot issues with systems, and pre balance hydronic loops.
Inaccurate compared to B&G class materials
App needs work. Compared to other modern apps the interface is old slow and lacks sophistication. For example, fields must be reentered often, and auto populate with values that must be backspaces to removed.
Quick & handy
Love this app for quick onsite calculations the only drawback is there is no tab for PEX pipe in the flow calculator, kind of odd the would have PVC pipe (which I've never seen used in a heating application) but not the most commonly used heating pipe.
P.Eng
Using metric flow and inputting m3/hr the app gives incorrect velocity and pressure drop
Circuit setter reading incorrect.
After the recent update. Previous version device and current version device side by side give very different results.
Has calculation errors
The Reynolds Number does not appear to calculate correctly for "Other" liquid definitions with user input viscosity and SG. Otherwise, this is a useful rough estimating tool.
App is not giving accurate
Circuit setter measurements not accurate
Great app but needs update for new 3DV's
Use it all the time in the field as a test and balance tech
Needs an update tho
Needs an update tho
Works great
I find it really useful when calculating pressure drop on fluid other than 60F water.

Confirmed problem with 50% setting on Circuit Setters is fixed in the latest version.
Flow state causes confusion but is correct. There are three states for flow: laminar, transition turbulent and complete turbulent. Transition turbulent was shortened to just "transition" in the app. However, most engineers understand this state as simply "turbulent". Further confusion is caused since "transition" sounds like it is in the Reynolds range where you cannot reliably predict the flow state. The flow labels have been improved in the full windows version. The next app upgrade will clarify the flow state labels.

Good app, but needs some improvements:
1. needs to be optimized for iPhone 5; and
2. need to fix the Reynolds number & indication of turbulent/laminar/transitional flow.

Great tool I would recommend it to anyone doing hydronic designs

Great program
Circuit setter calculator
1 1/2" circuit setter at 63 ft. Hd setting of 50
Shows 7.4 gpm
When on the wheel it's actually 19.5 gpm

Pump curves?
Would like to see B&G pump curves and triple duty stats. Overall great for balancing in a bind.
Ok app.
This works ok. I would suggest looking at Pipe Sizer and Pump Calc.
