As expensive as the Beoplay 9i headphones are you would think that Bang& Olson would try and develop an app that works? NOT!
Maybe if we flood them with complaints their so-called engineers would get off their collective buts and earn their pay by making an app that works?

What Happened
This app was updated and now my E8’s will not sync with the app anymore. The old app before the update was a 5, now for me it’s crap.
Crashes after upgrade by B&O
Still randomly crashes after the last upgrade in June 2016.
If you go into Demo mode and click on cameras it will fail when you move to another rooms camera. It runs for about a little while and crashes on an iPad Air running 8.4.1(12H321).
Just about every upgrade has some issues, come on guys, it's not like you are writing a complicated operating system like IOS for iPhone.
Do some extensive testing on multiple platforms before releasing please.

Excellent. No bugs that I have seen or run into. Slick and I adore the clean B&O interface. Better than usual Apple iTunes Player. Beotune alarm charming and pleasant to wake up to.

brilliant brilliant app for my iphone, it allows me to turn on my lights open my garage door turn on my music remotley and it gives the sense of security that when I go away i know that all of the lights are off

With the iPad this product is fantastic, ok you need the MLGW to make it work, but just price up Crestron or AMX, and this App is free!!!
Excellent Intergrator
Pairing up Bang & Olufsen to the outside world could not be easier! I have all of my KNX building services working with my Beo5 remote (cannot wait for the new two way remote). The MLGW offers full home integration with just one box instead of multiple Crestron processors. Well done B&O!!!!!

How can you give bad reviews if you've not used the app with the MasterLink Gateway unit??!! Properly set up with the correct equipment it works beautifully!!
The Gateway is fairly new and lets your Bang & Olufsen kit talk to each other with more functionality and allows it to operate with home automation equipment such as lighting and electric blinds etc. You can also add it to a router and use the wireless on your iPhone or iPod Touch to control whatever is connected without having to be in the same room.
So, unless you have products linked via MasterLink cables and have recently had MasterLink gateway installed and hooked up to your computer network the only thing you can do with the app is view a demo layout of what it could look like.
For all you BeoFans out there keep an eye on the product range, there's some pretty exciting stuff to come!!!

This app is great for those who have the very expensive Masterlink Gateway but for those Beophiles that don't it isn't much use.
What would be great is an app that allows one to control Beoport/Beoplayer with the iPhone via WiFi in much the same way that Apple's Remote software works. This could feature two-way control,
which is something I feel is sorely lacking from B&O's remotes!!

If you have the right equipment I think it would be very cool, but I'm not sure if my bang and olufsen system has the gateway link thingy!! :(
