Better options out there

We have used GPS self guided tours in the past from different vendors/apps and they were fantastic! This one was very unimpressive. It only allows you one direction of travel and cannot tell if you are moving in a clockwise direction. Therefore, all of its instructions are backwards. There is no freedom to do the tour as you wish, you must go in a counterclockwise fashion and the information was less than interesting.

You have to re-pair your phone each time you stop then it doesn’t continue from where you left off. Total waste of money

Risked our Safety

This guide took us to some areas that were so remote and uninhabitable that it was unnerving. It was a big disappointment in that we thought we were going to hear of cute stories and places to stop for a snack or shopping break, there was none of that. While we did hear some history, there was a lot of silence with very little musical background. Would not recommend.

Out of date app

I have the 2019 book and this is practically a carbon copy. Books can get out of date but apps should not. This author doesn’t live close to this island and cannot be an authority.

Great way to explore with the family

Excellent stories and easy to use. We simply downloaded and played as we drove, and the tour kept the whole family (incl young kids) engaged. Couldn’t have asked for more.

What a fun way to see the island! It made it easy to see the whole island.. just download the app and it takes you to all the highlights. Great commentary and lots of interesting information.

Great guide

My teenage son and I came to the Big Island and didn't want to be herded around like cattle on a tour nor did I want to spend $150+ per person to see the Volcanoes. We downloaded the App, rented a car and set out on our adventure.
