What is the Australian Biocontrol Hub?
The Australian Biocontrol Hub aggregates biocontrol agent release and establishment data; captures field observations of biocontrol agent spread; ensures biocontrol agent distribution data is readily accessible, and provides easy access to biocontrol information and references. The Biocontrol Hub is built on BioCollect; a sophisticated, yet simple to use tool developed by the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) in collaboration with over 100 organisations which are actively involved in field data capture. BioCollect has been developed to support the needs of scientists, ecologists, producers, citizen scientists and natural resource managers in the field-collection and management of biodiversity, ecological and natural resource management (NRM) data. The tool is hosted by the ALA and is free for public use.
