Missing features and annoying design choices
Constantly annoys you with the “need BT enabled” notification on every refresh or minimize of the app.
- It needs to be able to run in the background minimized without dropping connectivity and able to send notifications.
- Could use tabs to switch between open/active conversations.
- Fonts and UI are too small with no way to scale adjust anything.
- Encrypted on-device dictionary with auto translate feature would be very useful if built into the app.

It’s an issue or not?
The app works well for text messages, but I found an issue with media transfer between Android and iPhone. Text messages are delivered normally, but when I send photos or voice messages from Android to iPhone, nothing appears on the iPhone side. I tested on the latest version of the app, and even though the media appears to be sent, it never shows up on the receiving device. Photos and voice messages from iPhone to Android seem to work, but Android to iPhone does not. Please investigate cross-platform media transfer compatibility. Thank you ❤️

Keep getting notifications about bit chatters nearby, no option to disable it
Why would I care that there is a bit chatter nearby? Why can’t I disable it, but still get notifications for actual chats? This app is made by children…

I can use this app with friends at off grid campsites. The signal bounces around the Bluetooth of devices and gets to my friends!

There’s this one bug on ios which makes it almost impossible to make a new geohash the keyboard dissapears when i try to type

App NOW required Bluetooth? Today Hackers are using Bluetooth an I live fairly lived area (suburb) an the use of Bluetooth is no used unless it’s a emergency.
Don’t bother
Update 7/9/26: Some friends got the app to “work” but are not getting notifications of messages. Notifications of people on the app in the vicinity appear on the lock screen, but never any notifications when a message appears. This makes the app utterly USELESS.
Good idea, but it rarely works. Will not recognize others even just a few feet away. Update 9/14 - has stopped recognizing any other devices, no matter what is tried. Deleting. Got a developer response. Thank you for responding. It read as follows: “would love to understand your setup. i have not seen this behavior. " The only problem is, I still have no way to contact them. They did not leave an email or phone number, and there is none I can find on the developer link. I would love to help, but there is no way to do so. Update: 1/14/26 - they keep adding functionality, but the app still does not work - at all. Nice idea, but very poorly executed. Deleting.
PS - Would even pay for it if it actually worked, it is such a great idea. Sadly, it simply does not work.

Great app!
Been using this app frequently and noticed 2 things, first when I use the app switcher and then bring the app to foreground it freezes. Also there aren’t any notifications when I receive a message - this could be implemented for favourited contacts

Very nice and niche app, but has some small issues
The app works perfectly as intended, although I don’t use it often, I like the concept of a messaging app that communicates through bluetooth. Personally I currently have 2 issues:
• I cannot receive photos from adroid phones as an apple phone user (should be easy to solve)
• The application is not very wide spread and so, I neither find people who already have the app nor can I communicate with friends through longer distances, due to it being not thst wide spread. (So probably more advertising?)
But all in all wonderful app, I like it!

Great app for blackout
Installed this app, if I need in the future
So good I’m writing a review for an App for the first time in my life
It does exactly what it claims. No having to create an account, no real setup process of any kind, no ads. You just download it and you are off to the races immediately. It is insanely intuitive to the extent that I believe my grandmother could probably figure it out in less than 15 minutes. Love that it uses tor. And lastly you don’t have to just use the mesh. You can also use geohash channels if you so desire. Instant 5 stars I look forward to seeing what comes next in the future.

Fantastic app. Feels like it’s out of a psyfi movie. Works fantastically and instantly. We juts got to get ppl to use it now
Very useful at crowded events
Used this app to talk to my friend at a music festival when cell towers were jammed. The range is disappointing but when we were able to connect chatting worked just fine. Five stars since the range issue isn’t the app’s fault

good idea. but if you can’t save contacts, what’s the point of a random, one-time anonymous chat?

This is a very cool concept. It kinda reminds me of mIRC with a modern twist. The BT offline chat function is awesome.
Does it relay?
The old firechat would eventually deliver a message to the recipient if they weren’t in range. This is such an important app. A true lifesaver!
