Great App

Bits is a great way to organize your stand up bits. It allows you to group them into a set and the comedy gym option is a great way to get a random topic and work on your craft. The app gives constructive feedback on your bits, which is great if you’re still new to the stand up scene. I highly recommend.

It Deletes Your Material

Pretty terrible of the developers to have a limit where I can’t even change my own jokes without you guys deleting them because I don’t pay for a subscription. It’s not like that’s the only way you guys can monetize instead of an advertisement system that can avoid taking data from client side use. Or at least a service that doesn’t screw you by deleting your jokes if you don’t pay them. That’s called RANSOMWARE. Give me my jokes back.

I’m sorry, but what? 😳 The app clearly prompts you to create an account if you want to secure your material. Without an account, there’s no way to confirm the material belongs to you. Obviously. This happens daily once you’ve written enough content, and you have to specifically state “I’ll take the risk” if you choose not to subscribe. You can export your material at any time if you wish. Unfortunately, you chose to take that risk repeatedly and never exported anything. Your material wasn’t deleted - it was never secured in the first place, by your own choice. If you want to find a solution, please reach out through more effective forms of communication and I’ll see what can be done (as other reviews show).

Well worth the costs

Really helps me organize my bits into sets and the comedy gym is a great way to force myself to write new material.

Great App - Responsive Developer

Downloaded this a few weeks ago and then played with it before adding too many bits. Found a couple of issues with web synching but the developer was incredibly responsive in fixing them. So refreshing. Ready to really get stuck in now. The app is great and has loads of potential.

Wish it was still free, but the new features seem cool

I really loved all the editions and updates the app was making at first. I used the app often when I would think of bits to structure them, time them, etc and go to do open mics. But I had a year long stint of not using it and I just came back to the app and now there is a paywall up. The new editions including the open mics near me is nice and all but there is a lock over the add button and I can’t add new material. Idk if there’s a way to bypass this without doing the free trial but I don’t want to just use it for a month and then go back to not using it bc I’ll have to pay. I’m sorry but it was better when you had the freedom to add things without paying smh

Hey! I think the recent lock issue was a glitch in my configurations (sorry!), but it shouldn’t be there anymore. That said, it’s always recommended to have a subscription running to make sure your material is backed up properly. Feel free to reach out if you’re still experiencing any other issues!

Good App

Really love features and design, the developer is also very responsive and I feel like listens to the users. There was an issue involving a paywall and after some users submitted their discomfort with the decision the developer decided to remove the paywall. I think that’s really cool and shows they are trying to do right by their users. I highly recommend this app!

Writing a joke is now locked behind a paywall

I’ve used this app for 2 years and went to write a new joke only for the button to be replaced with a lock icon. App is fine, but it ain’t worth 8 dollars a month. Used to recommend using this app to every new comic. I will now find an alternative.

Does Not Sync

Spent 2 hours making edits and this stupid app didn’t save anything. Synchronizing between desktop and mobile is a joke. Give me my $40 back.

I used to love this app, it was a great way to organize jokes and such. Now I’ve found I can’t use it anymore since it is subscription based.

Years worth of jokes gone

I updated my app to not only find it’s subscription based now, but what’s worse is my entire year of joke writing is gone , you think the developers could give a chance for OG users to at least download their material. I used to love this app, so disappointing

Amazing

The best free joke writing app there is, helps me keep track of all my bits, and how long they are (time wise), there’s a new feature that gives you a daily challenge and even a way to set up set lists/ sort your bits by topic/category

Bits is a great app

I just downloaded bits & i enjoy the simplicity of the interface. I like how it organizes everything as well. Once a bit is complete it can be further edited (during daily exercises)
