Crash out material
Authenticator absolutely DESTROYS the usability of this app. Something as simple as minimizing the app requires me to use Authenticator to login again.

App doesnt let you log in with microsoft even though thats a thing on their website.
Update broke iPhone links
Blackboard had been working pretty well on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but when the last app update came out, Blackboard alert links no longer work. Clicking on an iPhone notification or embedded email link from Blackboard now opens a Page Not Found error. On my Mac laptop, those same links work fine.
Newest App version as of 9.7.26
This app has always been too buggy, but this time I have to write a review. Despite multiple attempts I have yet to successfully launch this latest version on my phone without it freezing up. No available navigation. I’ll keep trying but, very frustrating…
Lags
This app lags and don’t display information. I always have to go to my iPad or computer to log into the actual school site
Unusable on IOS devices
Whoever is behind their IOS app needs to be held accountable for how bad Blackboard is on IOS compared to it on laptop. It's literally impossible to use and incredibly inefficient. Please, for the sake of connivence, do something.

Due dates
The stream feature is fine but I’m rather annoyed that there isn’t a section that shows upcoming assignments and due dates in order.
I want to see just the assignments, not all the posts and announcements with it. Also I am annoyed that there isn’t a what if feature for grades.
This app needs a revamp.
Canvas does it better.

I like the convenience of the Blackboard app however, it rarely works.
Terrible for mobile devices
Use to be better on mobile devices but definitely got glitchy to the point where it deletes your work very disappointing. Avoid just use on computer so you don’t lose wasted time and work
Good app, but bugs break the experience
Notifications bring you to a page saying this doesn’t exist or something like that, otherwise the app looks good this semester 👍
Better but still TERRIBLE
- No way to report bugs or share feedback, since it fails to load those pages
- This is just a dedicated browser for the website, and loads the website pages. All problems with the mobile website (I’ll list my relevant ones below) still hold true.
- Mobile site loads old blackboard discussion posts, this app does not. (But it does load ‘ultra’ posts)
Most relevant Mobile site problems:
- discussion posts have css giving them a minimum width. This makes the right of the posts cut off. It’s great that this now loads the ultra posts, but it’s till unusable.
- Cannot view assignments instructions without “starting attempt”. Desktop does not have this issue.
- This is just a dedicated browser for the website, and loads the website pages. All problems with the mobile website (I’ll list my relevant ones below) still hold true.

dark mode needed
i like this its easy to use but can we please have a dark mode available for those who study and do assignments at night. the white screen is straining my eyes and I would like for there to be a dark mode feature. Thank you.
Great app
Blackboard is a great app to go along with my college courses. I do think the only thing I would change is to make it more visible for students on the content page that things have been submitted. The app requires you to open each assignment instead of being able to glance at it on the main page. It would also be convenient if there were trackers, enabling us to check off Reading and media assignments as well. Otherwise, I really like it.

So annoying to use
It’s annoying to navigate on a phone and there’s no dark mode which should be a feature. Canvas is so much better
Buggy
If I open a document, such as a PDF or a JPEG image through the iOS version, then I have to close the app to back out of the document. Also, announcements will populate as notifications; however, when I use the notification to open the announcement in blackboard I receive an error code “uh oh, looks like we can’t find a course with that ID.” Like… come on. GET IT TOGETHER ON THE IOS FRONT PLEASSSSEEEEEE

iPhone VS Computer
iPhones are complete and absolute nightmare to try to use for blackboard. I’ve tried to use it several times and it never works. It just keeps reloading the very first home page even when you’re clicking on something else. The computer is probably your best bet if you have to use blackboard.
