Great lighting control even if you don’t want to be a light board op!
As a gaffer, I mainly use it for lighting control. For big setups, a small crew or just minor adjustments during an interview, it’s well worth having. It’s easy to learn the basics. I’ll get a a board op for heavy control/effects days..

Semplice e funzionale
Uso Blackout dal 2021. All’inizio era poco più di un “telecomando” ma negli ultimi 2 anni ha avuto uno sviluppo davvero pazzesco. Jeff è il suo staff si sono inseriti prepotentemente in un segmento che mancava affrontando con grande serietà lo sviluppo. Lo consiglio moltissimo!

Can’t event Subscribe to enable output
The app requires you to log into an account and subscribe, but when you press on „subscribe“ you’re only redirected to a website stating „Blackout 2.0 is coming“ - no option to. Subscribe to a Plan to enable ArtNet output…..

Seriously, $500 for the basic subscription!! There’s no trial plan to see if I like it? And these reviews are obviously written by people who got paid to write them. What a joke.

Works great and the developer is very responsive
Blackout is a good controller for those who work on small to medium sized job where having instant control of all your units is worthwhile, but you don’t quite have the need, room, or budget for a full console. I found Blackout to be in that sweet spot between an analog board, which now is all but moot, and a system where you need to have serious training in order to be able to troubleshoot issues that arise.
Blackout gives you the option to shift parameters with sliders, but you can also enter commands in a command line way with characters like you would on a larger console.
The fact that the developer is very responsive to the individual end user is a huge given how quickly new fixtures are being added to the lighting business.
It’s not an inexpensive app, but it delivers and makes you look good in the field while being able to remain nimble on your feet and ready for any new direction a production may take.

Best Thing Short of Console
2 years into using this app regularly and I’ve been so pleased. Between the helpful YouTube tutorials, Facebook Community, and Jeff’s quick help this app is a powerhouse application. Though more updates and greater improvement are still to come, this app has been so useful to so many projects I’ve worked on. With DMX control being more and more important to every production this is the app to beat for speed, controllability, and function.

An App I’ve searched a long time for. It brings the possibilities of a lightpult to your iPad.
It’s a complex app but worth to spend the time to learn. Work is so much easier and makes me a lot faster with blackout.
Even with multiverse it works well.
Definitely a recommendation to all, who are looking for better ways to work on set.

Great app!
This lightning control app beats any other mobile OS based lighting control app. Works very similarly to EOS, fixture selection and parameter adjustments are far more easy than other Apps. Has way better options for fixtures and effects. This app is the most solid option for tablet based lighting control.
