Terrible user experience
Camera never connects to phone. Have to remove card every time I want to see a recording. Terrible instructions.
WiFi issues
WiFi was working fine before this update. White light would come on when connecting. Now after this new update this doesn’t happen. And can’t connect to WiFi. Every update fixes something but breaks something else. Very frustrating can’t even update cam firmware because it “UNABLE TO CONNECT” after couple tries you’ll be lucky you connect to watch playback or live view locally Smh why ? Why? Especially in this day and age. I would expect this 20 years ago.

Was forced to update else I could not proceed with opening my app. Once updated, neither of my dashcams connect.
Terrible experience
The app is terrible, to say the least. It constantly has issues connecting to the cloud whenever I want to view footage. Either the camera isn’t detected, or the app just keeps loading indefinitely. It’s extremely frustrating, especially when you need to access recordings quickly. This really affects the overall experience with the dashcam.

App has been working great.
I recently discovered that my BlackVue DR770X Box 3-Channel dash camera was restarting and disconnecting from the cloud, not because of this app, but because of the camera itself.
For years, I experienced frequent cloud disconnects and assumed the app was the problem because I didn’t fully understand what was causing it. After troubleshooting, I found the real culprit: burn marks and oxidation inside the DC-IN power port, which caused unstable power. That power instability led to the cloud disconnects, and as the oxidation got worse, the camera eventually started restarting constantly throughout the day.
I’m leaving this review because I was also one of the people who gave the BlackVue app a poor rating, thinking everything was related to the app. It turns out the real issue was with the camera’s main unit, not the application.
If you’re experiencing frequent cloud disconnects or random restarts, don’t automatically assume it’s the app. The first thing I would check is whether your camera is overheating. Heat can damage the DC-IN power port over time, causing oxidation, unstable power, cloud disconnects, and eventually constant restarting.
To prevent this from happening again, I built a custom cooling system using the same mounting bracket as my dash camera to keep air moving around the unit instead of allowing heat to build up in one spot. Since cleaning the DC-IN port and improving the cooling, my camera has been running much more reliably. I hope this helps someone else before they blame the app like I did.

Horrible Application - Wireless Apple CarPlay
I have wireless CarPlay in my vehicle, so I have to disconnect that before I can view video on the app. I also run a VPN all the time with split tunneling—that also has to be disabled because they have a hard check in the app for VPN connections. This is one of the worst applications I’ve used. Avoid this company!

Don’t pay for the subscription
Good luck trying to retrieve the footage! The app is so frustrating and will take you an hour minimum to retrieve your videos. It disconnects all of the time and I was paying for a cloud subscription only to find out it only uploads when you force it too so it’s no different to downloading the footage onto your phone. This is a very overrated brand and I can’t believe I paid so much! Avoid like the plague!

Improved UI sucks
Why did you change the UI? I have 2 cameras and I have to expand the tiles each time for each one. Why can’t both just stay in the open position so I can quickly access what I want to when I have 70% of my display empty? How is this an improvement if I have to tap every single time an additional step? I paid a premium for a good dash cam with a good app. This isn’t good.

Takes forever to connect to camera or doesn’t connect
This app is awful. It doesn’t connect to the camera quickly or just fails to connect period
App Never Connects
All I’m met with is not being able to connect to WiFi, if it rarely does, the app says it isn’t connected anyway. can watch using micro sd card on the computer, but even with the OBD2 port accessory to keep the camera running, it doesn’t, even with the indicator light on, it at least doesn’t save any events.

Have had it a few years now but all of a sudden there’s no ability to download from the camera and all it does is keep pushing you towards using the cloud.

Can’t view footage thru phone
Bought it last year had someone professionally installed and paired with my phone. After a couple of months stopped connecting to my phone so frustrating when you need the footage immediately. Tried almost everything very disappointed would not recommend to anyone.

When I updated the apps, the live view always stop when streaming for about 5seconds
