Great tool for 7 year old baseball obsessed son
As a dad of a 7 year old who loves baseball, this has been one of the best investments we’ve made. The sensor gives him objective feedback on his swing and motivates him as it has gamified his practice. He has been spending upwards of an hour a day practicing off the tee trying to beat his personal bests. He did not enjoy the idea of hitting off the tee by himself prior to this, and the tool and app have changed that. In the short period of time that he has been using it, there has been significant improvement in his numbers which has been awesome to see! Highly recommend to anyone with a child who loves baseball.

Blast Motion has become one of the most valuable tools in my son’s baseball development. As the parent of a highly motivated youth player, I’ve found it to be much more than a gadget—it’s an objective coaching tool that helps guide our training.
Instead of guessing what needs improvement, the sensor provides real data on metrics like bat speed, attack angle, connection, and rotational acceleration. We’ve been able to identify weaknesses, set measurable goals, and track progress over time. It’s incredibly motivating for my son to see his hard work reflected in the numbers.
The app is intuitive, the video synchronization is excellent, and the instant feedback makes practice far more productive. We’ve used the data to adjust drills, monitor improvement, and build a more purposeful training plan.

Horrible
I used to be able to access my information, the training centre, and exit velocity. Now All 3 are gone and I basically got a tough luck reply from the support team, saying my errors are expected and individual subscriptions are only accessible through the app now.
When I said the entire point of my purchase was to access the training centre and asking why that access was also gone, they didn’t even reply. Will be contacting my bank for a refund.

No longer works
We used to enjoy using this despite going from free use to paid use. We were willing to pay the monthly subscription. But we got kicked out of the app and when we try to log back in, it gives us error messages. When I go to forgot password, it says our credentials don’t exist. I emailed support and am getting no response. At this rate, I will probably cancel our subscription since it’s useless at this point and support is not willing to help. Beware that this is what you get.

Fun and useful app for my 12 year old son
We have had the Blast sensor for 3 months now. It easily attaches to the end of his bat and gives multiple feedback data points. We focus mainly on bat speed and attack angle. The stats are delivered almost immediately to the app after contact of bat with ball. My son loves hearing the stats and makes adjustments and gets immediate feedback on those adjustments. The app also gives you an optimal range for each data point as a goal

Most Convoluted App I’ve Used
This app has some much potential and it’s wasted on the most convoluted presentation possible. The data it collects is great but viewing that data is made impossible by the front end of this app. There’s zero way just to get to your numbers and view them. Everything is filtered through three things called Plane Score, Connection Score and Rotation Score. You have to dig through those to get to actual raw data and even then it’s hard to view. And there’s different ways to get to these Scores at the bottom of the app. It’s just a convoluted mess. Great data collector but it’s like the app owner doesn’t want you to get to the data.

Alert sound only
I have subscribed this app. When I tried to use this sensor for training, only the alert sound and no data I can receive. In addition, no platform can test whether the sensor is workable

Love that the sensor gives my kid a baseball, we continue to work and get better. If you’re not a numbers person or you don’t have a background in hitting, the sensor takes the guess work out and gives you instant feedback.
Works Great But….
App works great out of the box with the surface level features. But as you play with it, the different data sets can be overwhelming. App should have a feature for the user to select how granular to get. Example: novice user settings, intermediate and expert. Each level would have its own group of data sets.

Warning it needs a expensive subscription
I got this several years ago for Christmas worked fine could take as many swings as I wanted and everything in the app was unlocked, then whoever made this decided to make everything, and I mean everything pay to use, wana measure more than 10 swings a day? Buy our subscription, wana see a 3D model of your swing subscription, wana compare you in game swings with you practice swings, subscription, subscription, subscription.

I'm a college baseball player and I wanted a way to check certain metrics that allow me to keep my best swing in control.
Blast motion has helped me keep track of my day to day performance to make sure I'm consistent along with adding some useable bat speed.

The Blast sensor has been a great tool to set baselines for our team and track progress through our workouts and practices. Highly recommend this for all ages!
Greedy Policy Change to Existing Free Users
Purchased the device a year or two ago with the understanding the app allowed for swing tracking and metrics as seen on prior YouTube videos. It worked great with this full feature set until recently when an app policy change now requires an expensive monthly or annual subscription on the order of the price of the original sensor purchase to get any data out of it. This suddenly turned a fun and sometimes useful training tool into a piece of e-waste that will collect dust on a shelf or landfill. It was hard to justify purchasing this device for the price back when it was purchased, and it is completely ridiculous to spend on that money on a monthly subscription. That’s not happening. Currently any time you try to use it, the app just prompts the expensive subscription page, and if you close it out, it takes you back to the home page such that you can’t use it. Blast needs to change the policy back to offering free use with metrics for folks who purchased the device for personal use or just abandon the product. Mine will be sitting on the shelf until it is useable again. Don’t waste your money on this device until the policy changes. It is currently just garbage.

Useful technology takes some getting used to
Happy with it so far
We have enjoyed blast motion so far. The feedback from each swing happens within a few seconds which is very nice. I am still trying to figure out how to overlay the biometrics on the video, or if it’s possible to do so. I am also taking the mini course for bat sensors through driveline baseball academy to see how I can use each metric to its full extent.
