Nice but no manual

In a way, this app is clunky, the graphics are simple, but functional. The best thing, and the developer points this out, is that you can create your own sounds and that is huge. The best thing that the developer could do is to write up a simple owner's manual. His tutorials on YouTube are fair, and there is another video that is a bit better, but a written manual would answer all the questions any user might have.

Amazing!

I love this app! It's perfect for beat making! I'm surprised no one else reviewed this awesome app!

Problem with 6 plus

UI doesn't fill the entire 6 plus screen.

Continues to struggle with Audiobus after all this time

This one has been with me for years and though it has a respectable drum synth engine and an excellent performance mode the continuing issues with Audiobus are tiresome. The latest update is said to address such issues- honestly I had not used the app for some time so I fired it up in Audiobus to see if there was indeed a problem and the all too familiar lack of sound had crept back in. I did the update and still nothing. Without Audiobus functionality this app goes from 4 to 2 stars; the sounds, while customizable still fall a little flat without the benefit of some additional FX and aside from the neat performance mode the user interface is rather clunky and not ideal for jamming.

Most Excellent!

I was looking for a single app for live performance that could deliver a good e-drum and bass vibe, with built in sequencer that could play chromatic scales (any note), plus MIDI support and clock output. This was the only app I could find at a realistic price that would do it all. And it sounds great! And its well thought out and easy to learn!

Highly recommended

Still a great drum machine

I've come back to iOS after two years and was pleasantly surprised to see this is still being updated. It's definitely one of the best "analog style" drum machines on the App Store and has been since 2009. Great job dev!

Changing 3 stars to 5.....

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

For updating the parameter motion fix! And after reading the review I left almost a year ago I must apologize for its tone. I love this app and was very frustrated on spending so much time programming the motion only to hit another parameter wrong to have it reset to that particular parameter.

Now it will prompt you to allow or disallow and my request has been answered! I'm sorry for leaving such a childish review but please understand how frustrating its been without this new update!

5 stars all the way!!!

pure synth rhythm box

since all sounds are synthesized directly from the device, the possibilities are endless with this app. the updates so far have been amazing, including song mode and export to wav, even saving and sharing of sounds and songs. well worth the cost. buy this app now!

Fantastic app!

bleep!BOX provides seemingly endless creative possibilities - I could compose for hours and never run out of ideas! It's a Pro app: it provides excellent sound quality, deep editing capabilities, a snappy and user friendly UI, as well as anything else you'd expect for professional music making. Excellent work!

Really awesome! Love this app !! ( Nice Update)

( updated review- Great Update Bleep Box !! Easier to use now , Thanks !! , still one of the most underated music apps , Love This Thing .!!) Bleep box is one of the most underated music making apps of all of'em you can get really sweat sounds with this and its pretty easy too figure , way bettdrthan a lot of apps for the same price or more , if your not great at programing and sequenceing like me id suggest u get this mass amounts of sounds that are really unique can be achieved and even the prerecordefnexamples sound great unlike most , go for the gold !! This rules! and no i dont work for'em , i just like to promote the cool apps as ive bought a lot that are crap, and this isnt one of'em ! Enjoy ! latest review after not using this for a while i just remebered how sweet it is !love this app ! blows away just about every drum app ive tried , probably everyone actually , and you can add sweet synth sounds on top of that! Its just really easy to come up with really original "sick" Sounds ! Unlike a lot of apps this one IS worth the money ! love it , hope the developers mske more cool apps thank!

Not the greatest interface

This app is not the easiest to work around. The sounds are rewarding. Worth the $5, no more.

Great, period.

Deep and wide, one of the best electro studio apps out there, maybe the best, which is saying a lot, given the competition. There is a learning curve, but no learning curve = toy, and this is no toy. Look at the dev's video on the help site, you'll even learn something about composition....

EXELLENT

Awesome I love it, it's great for getting started with music making

Hmmmmmm

Ok, but in the end suffers from a poor UI.

Lots of features, a little fiddly

In general I think this is one of the best drum synth apps available, it can cover a wide range of sounds and has very good support from the developer. The iPad version is vastly easier to use than the iPhone version but there are still some interface elements I find hard to control at times. For instance, why do we need a scroll wheel to access synth parameters, when there's plenty of blank space there to just swipe?

Also, the parameter ranges are so wide, that it can be hard at times to really narrow in on the exact value you want. Good for versatility, bad for quickly honing in on specific drum sounds.

Really nice drum app, just needs a more streamlined interface to get 5 stars for me.

Loved it, now it crashes too much

Everything was working great, but recently everytime I try to play a full sequence the app crashes. I have tried everything possible to fix this, but no matter what I have done, it still crashes. This is a great app, but this problem makes it worthless for me!

Slightly disappointed

All in all, it seems a fun app but it needs improvements. First of all, I think the interface could be thought-through and arranged much better. Next, the sound is a bit cheesy and low quality most of the time, you have to spend a lot of time tweaking the parameters to get it sound good. So, for pure fun - a nice app, albeit a bit expensive for such purpose. If you're a sound design professional, look elsewhere. I wish I played with the free player version - wouldn't have purchased the full version. I only hope that the author gets the app to a higher level with the next updates.

Great synth and sequencer with great Flexibility

Bleep!box offers a great step sequencer with lots of tracks, patterns, and flexibility for pretty complex arrangement. The synthesis engine is great for tweaking to make "just the right sound". I had a lot of fun tweaking the sounds and arranging. The pattern creation process especially shines, as I can set timing, pitch, an other parameters with great ease!

I would suggest the author make it easier to switch between screens, and I found the controls fussy at times, but these are suggestions for improvement, not wholesale change. For melodies, I might also prefer a keyboard, but I have gotten used to the lack thereof.

This app is easily worth the price for the flexibility alone. Great work and I am sure I will keep using it!

Really solid beat sequencer

I tried the Player version first and found it to be really deep and useful. Bleepbox does a good job of dealing with the iPhone screen size and it's fun to make beats with it. In terms of workflow, there's almost nothing getting in the way of making good stuff. It sounds good, looks good, and is nice and speedy to work with.

The main snags I ran into while getting into it is that you have to be connected to the internet to get the documentation; it's not built-in. I have an iPod Touch and was first looking at it on a plane, so there was more guesswork learning some aspects of it than would have happened if the docs were baked in.

I also wouldn't write melodies with bleepbox because it doesn't have a keyboard, which is more comfortable for me. I'll still try it and see if the sequencing way will work for me. If you're used to working with a step sequencer, or looking to work and play that way, or if you (like me) mainly want to make beats, look no further.

Grooveboxer's paradise

At first I was overwhelmed by this app, but reading the manual made me realize the potential of it. Coming from programming my old trusty Electribes, I can already tell, this app is going to be among my favorites. Also, the fact that there are no samples, is going to make it that much more interesting. If u like playing with grooveboxes, get this now!
