Finally, I Can Enjoy More Audiobooks, will be 5 stars once lockscreen is updated for audiobooks
I’ve been extremely happy with Bleeped. This app has opened the door for me to enjoy so many audiobooks that I have otherwise skipped because of the excessive profanity. I love fantasy, and there are so many incredible stories in the genre, but it’s frustrating when unnecessary language distracts from an otherwise amazing book. Bleeped solves that problem for me.
The only downside to the app is on mobile the controls are more like for songs instead of audiobooks where the previous and next buttons skip to the next actual chapter instead of 30secs like audiobook players usually do. This also applies to CarPlay and is the controls for headphones. Currently if you need to skip back or forward a little you have to go open the actual app fully to see the controls for that. Siri also only uses the apps lock screen buttons so you also cannot use siri to back it up a short amount either. The lockscreen just shows the play and skip chapters buttons. Once the app is updated to give the features for audio books so it can be used easily in the car, or can be controlled with headphones it will be a 5 star experience for sure.
I also appreciate how flexible the app is. You can purchase audiobooks directly through the supported stores, and if a book isn’t available there, you can buy or download audiobooks you already own and upload them yourself. There’s a small learning curve if you haven’t done that before depending of where you got the audiobook from, but with a quick internet or AI search it’s easy to figure out, and having that option makes the app much more versatile.
The app does require a subscription, but for me it’s absolutely worth it. Being able to listen to books I used to avoid because of the language has made my audiobook library so much bigger. The app is thoughtfully designed, continues to improve with frequent updates, and gives control over what content they want filtered.
If you’ve ever passed on a great audiobook because of the profanity or other content, I highly recommend giving Bleeped a try. It’s one of those rare apps that solves a problem I thought I’d just have to live with.

Excellent audiobook personalized filtering
Love this app! I’m a big believer that you should be able to consume content however you prefer and this allows you to filter out words and scenes that you might prefer to avoid. I’ve listened to one long book so far and it worked almost flawlessly.

Dumb concept. ugly app
The concept of censoring an author’s work against without their consent because its content offends you is hilarious. Just like, turn the page, or don’t read it? Y’all are so sensitive you can’t hear the f word in your book? Grow up! The ux/ui is ugly, the app is slow and barely works, and the collection of books is so laughably bad. Glad the entire Jack Mars collection is available!! Is this is the greatest product to come out of the Huntsman school of business??

Works very well
To get books bleeped from audible has a bit of a learning curve, but is worth the effort. Very customizable and user friendly once you are ready to go. So grateful this exists!

The New Siftbooks!!!
This is a sorely needed service that just isn’t really available anywhere else!
The ones that”kind-of” filter out profanity really don’t do anything for audiobooks, but Bleeped does!
I can’t wait to get into more titles I have purposely been avoiding because of the extent of profanity in their titles.
Great price, great customer service and support, and a very easy app to use and navigated.
Lots of options available to “tweak” the app. The only thing it’s missing is an equalizer!!
As with anything, I expected it to be buggy once I tried it, but I was pleasantly surprised that there were really only a few minor issues, and the dev team is really on top of it.
Thanks Benjamin for an Awesome Product!!!!
