Soon to be former blink customer

I’ve been a blink customer from the start. At the beginning they had their quirks but I chalked it up to growing pains and stuck with them and continued to support them as they grew. Since then they have focused more on subscription based model and paywalling features, cameras that are extremely unreliable, a system that when you try to click live view or view recordings takes so long that any potential thief or thread would have long had a jump on you and your property. And to make matters worse, myself and everyone I know with an Apple Watch for 3+ months now have been plagued with a notification dump glitch if you have your watch set to mirror notifications. If I’m not by my phone I still want to be alerted to my security. But instead due to some sort of app glitch, server glitch or whatever they have all notifications cached in such a way that when you receive a new notification it will make your watch buzz non stop with alerts for hours on end giving you every alert that blink recorded in the last 48 hours. I’ve been waiting for an update to finally fix this issue but it appears blink doesn’t care and I’ve just about had it and am considering switching to another company. Search google and you will find this is a wide spread issue and is known by blink but they want to point fingers at Apple rather than fix the problem. Thumbs down from me!

Bugs?

I don’t know what’s going on with the app lately. When I first got the app couple years ago, it was for my mom’s camera, her and I could both view in. Now that I have my own cameras at my house, the app barely lets me on- sometimes i’ll click on one of the cameras to watch it live, and then it kicks me out of the app. Or it’ll say something about the network not available and it just won’t load.

Awful experience

Got a Blink video doorbell and all seemed fine. Then the trial cloud subscription expired and I realized I needed an ongoing subscription or I had to purchase a sync module in order for doorbell video recording to keep working. First red flag. So I tried to buy a sync module and wouldn’t you know the $50 module want available just the $140 module was available. So I tried to select a monthly cloud subscription but I wasn’t even able to log into my account to do so. Spent ages with tech support to no avail. It would take my credentials and then load a blank page. So I bought a different doorbell camera that supports local storage. Goodbye Blink, my experience using your app and product was abysmal and your money grabbing nonsense was the nail in the coffin.
