Eh

It works, except for the problem that Safari has a button on the blocked page that says “Reload Without Content Blockers” that makes using this app/extension worthless. You would have to have the best impulse control in the world to use this, and in that case you wouldn’t need a web blocker to begin with.

This means you can browse to a blocked site and bypass the block within 1 second by clicking on a button. The web blocker that’s supposed to cause friction and make you re-evaluate your decision to go on a blocked site doesn’t have any friction at all. It’s just one click on a button right in front of your face.

I’m mad that it wasn’t even mentioned anywhere that this would be the case or else I wouldn’t have even bought this. It’s $5 down the drain as far as I’m concerned.

good

does what i wanted, which is block websites of choice without a bunch of other cruft.

I simply LOVE it!!!

No data collection.
No meddling with child/parent nonsense.
No “trying to stay in focus” … (like someone blaming the other App for “I lack self-control but this app makes it too easy for me to turn the access back on” 🤦🏻‍♂️).
Just blocking a site(s) that I have no interest in visiting ever, but “offered” by search engines’ advertising all the time!!

Thank you, man!!! Great addon.
It is free too - as a free-choice should be!!!
Will be glad to donate/pay for it.

Response from developer

Thank you! This is one of the core ideas behind the app: do one thing and do it well.

Domain entries are a bit finiky. Otherwise great

Overall the app is solid. However, the domain entry has to have the correct prefix otherwise it may not get blocked. In my case i had to add 'www.' before the website name for it to work. I originally tried 'http://website.com' and 'https://website.com' and just 'website.com' and those didn't get blocked as i could still access 'website.com'. Also is there no way to delete a domain entry? Not a big deal but would be nice to have for sure.

Response from developer

Hey, thanks for the review! Yes, domains might be a bit finicky due to redirects performed by the websites. I usually recommend using *website.com as a mask that catches most of them. Regarding removing a site, you should be able to right click (or Control click) the row and select the Delete option. If that doesn't work for some reason, just highlight the row by clicking it once, and press the Delete key on the keyboard.

Perfect

Simple and works great! Spent a lot of time searching to find this app.

Thanks for the review! Glad you find it useful.

Actually wut I needed

Perfect extension for me since so many sites have an annoying thing where they open a new tab with some kinda random sus website that keeps redirecting you over and over with a ton of weird stuff.

Response from developer

Thanks a lot! Sounds like a great use case.

Simple and Effective!

It does exactly what it is advertised to do - it’s incredibly easy to use.

Amazing App

I really like this app very much! This is amazing simple app that helped me to avoid distructions!

THANKS!

Best website blocker

This has got to be the best website blocker I've ever used! No cost, and it's extremely effective. No bugs either!

However, I think there could be the option to turn all websites on/off at same time. Also, as a person that goes to lots of distracting websites, I think a keyboard shortcut for the ' ' button would be nice.

But it's still great!

Response from developer

Hey, thanks a lot! I actually just pushed an update that implements the new "Toggle All" button and adds keyboard shortcuts for those. Cmd + N to add a new domain, and Cmd + Shift + T to toggle all. It should become available shortly, hope you find it useful.

No subscription but not perfect

Free, so thats nice. I just started using it. Doesn't work for yahoo.com

-Works on others.

I'd pay money (not a subscription though) if would work on all websites.

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind words. We spoke over email and as far as I understand, entering *yahoo.com instead of just yahoo.com resolved your issue. I hope it will be smooth sailing from now on :)

Exactly Perfect

Does what it says with no hidden costs or unnecessary features. A beautifully simple application. Thank you.
