Blocs Wave is a mobile music application designed for quickly creating and recording new music. It functions as a portable music studio, allowing users to combine vocals, loops, and beats. The app is suitable for both songwriters and electronic music producers.
Key features include the ability to discover and combine sounds across genres, record new sounds like vocals and instruments, slice and rearrange audio, and build loops in real-time. It also offers real-time stretching and pitch engines for live looping, and the option to export music.
Yes, Blocs Wave is free to download. However, certain advanced features like Slice Mode, a 3-band EQ, and importing your own sounds are available through in-app purchases. There is also an expanding soundpack library that can be downloaded.
The description mentions that Blocs Wave works well with other apps and supports Audiobus, AudioCopy/AudioShare, and hardware input. It also supports Ableton Link for jamming in sync. While specific OS versions aren't listed, it's designed for mobile devices.
Blocs Wave is well-suited for live looping due to its real-time stretch and pitch engine, which allows you to change tempo while playing. You can build up live recorded loops in real-time, making it a dynamic tool for spontaneous musical creation and performance.
