About
Most plant apps will tell you whether a plant is toxic. Very few will tell you how they know.
Bloom is a plant care encyclopedia that works entirely offline. 317 plants, each with a full guide: what it needs, what stage it should be in, and what to do when something looks wrong. All of it is free.
PET SAFETY YOU CAN CHECK
Every toxicity call cites its source, and you can see it. Most are the ASPCA's own listing for that exact species. Where we could not verify a plant confidently, the guide says "unverified" rather than guessing, because a wrong answer here is the one that actually hurts. 186 of the 317 plants carry a sourced safe-or-toxic call.
REAL GROWING ADVICE
Guides are written to be useful in the moment: how often to water, what the leaves are telling you, why the fruit split, when to prune and when not to. Common problems are listed by what you can see, not by the name of the disease you would have to already know to look up.
TRACK WHAT YOU PLANTED
Add a plant to My Garden, log when you planted it, and Bloom tells you which stage it should be in and what that stage needs. Start tracking partway through if you bought it already grown.
KNOW WHEN TO WATER
Log a watering and Bloom tells you when that plant is next due a look, with a reminder carrying the guide's own advice — "water when the top 2 inches are dry" — rather than a generic nudge. Plants whose care has no fixed schedule, like a Venus Flytrap standing in rainwater, say so instead of being given a made-up one.
WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
The whole library lives on your phone, all 281 photographs included. There is no account, no login and no sign-up, and nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere. Every photograph is a real, species-verified image credited to the photographer who took it.
FREE, AND PLAIN ABOUT WHY
Every guide and every tool is free. Bloom is paid for by one banner ad on the Home and Explore screens — never on a plant guide, because covering care instructions with an ad is the one place it would genuinely cost you something. The ads are non-personalised: Bloom never asks for tracking permission and never reads your advertising identifier.
Bloom is a reference, not a veterinary service. If you think an animal has eaten something toxic, contact a vet or your local poison control line immediately.
