About
Bodhisattva Vows is a private daily practice tool for Mahayana Buddhist practitioners who have taken the 64 Bodhisattva vows and wish to maintain a regular examination of their conduct.
WHAT IT DOES
Each day, open the app and reflect on your vows one by one. Mark each as kept or missed, add a personal note if something stands out, and finish with a session summary showing where your practice stands.
THREE WAYS TO PRACTICE
- Full Review — work through all 64 vows in sequence, as traditionally recommended
- Focus Set — select a personal set of vows to work with intensively for a period, then rotate to others
- Random Draw — let the app select a fresh set each session for a less predictable reflection
PATTERN TRACKING
After several sessions, the app surfaces vows you tend to miss most often. These patterns become a gentle guide, helping you notice where your conduct needs the most attention without any judgment or pressure.
DESIGNED FOR PRACTICE
The interface is intentional and unhurried — no gamification, no streaks, no social features. Just the vows, your reflection, and your notes. All data stays on your device and is never shared.
REMINDERS
Set one or more daily reminders to help you build a consistent practice. Choose from preset times or set your own.
THE VOWS
All 64 vows are included with their Tibetan titles and full English descriptions, drawn from the ACI (Asian Classics Institute) course materials from Geshe Michael Roach. The 18 root downfalls and 46 secondary offenses are clearly organized and searchable.
This app is offered freely as a support for practice. May it benefit all beings.
