Powerful app

This app is seriously slept on. It can handle documents and images. It allows the use of custom .GGUF models and supports MCP tools. It has web search, current time, weather, and location built in and you can add your own MCP servers with an API key or Oauth 2.x. If you have an API key for a cloud model such as Claude or ChatGPT you can import that and use it as well. While it’s not LM Studio it contains nearly everything you could need in a mobile context. You can customize hyperparameters, use KV Cache quantization, and support context lengths to whatever your device capabilities are. You can even adjust the amount of tokens used for image analysis which is super useful. I have been able to run Qwen 3.5 4B (Q5_K_M) with VL projector disabled at 80k context length with Q5_1 KV Cache quantization… on an iPhone 17 Pro. The app only crashes on me if I try to do something insane such as run Qwen 3.5 9B at 48k context. The app works great on Mac as well and it’s intuitive enough that my mom is able to use it. If the app is crashing on you choose a smaller model or upgrade your iPhone 11; it literally came out last decade.

I also had a good laugh at the iPhone 11 comment 😄. More seriously, you’re absolutely right that model size and context length need to match the device’s available memory. The app tries to expose those settings so advanced users can push their hardware, while still remaining approachable enough for everyone else. iOS local performance is unbelievably fast

This thing is sick. As far as I’m aware this is the only local ai sandbox that allows your local model on your phone to access the web through iPhones. Developer please explain agentic shortcuts with better copy. Users that are looking for something like this have no idea its already available because there’s no sales copy explaing

BonzAI is one of the best local AI apps I have tested on iPhone so far. For a free app, its local model experience, tool support, and overall direction are genuinely impressive.

Great app for running local AI

I don’t use ai too often but I’m trying to utilize it more on device and this app helps me do that in a quick, accurate and efficient way. The user interface is phenomenal. Very, very underrated app!

The Best.

I have tried countless apps in the app store to find one that lets me use Prism ML’s Bonzai with full web access. Im not sure what sort of dark magic this app is using, but the quality of the web searches and the flawless integration of my beloved Bonzai 8B has currently replaced my entire habit of going to Google for web searches. This has replaced the need for Google web search, GPT for random questions, and sometimes even shopping. The weather and clock features are excellent too. Simply asking my model about my location’s weather gives highly accurate pulls every time (with the right settings and setup of course). As far as integration goes, I have yet to find an app that is compatible with Bonsai (fully) AND uses the correct settings its makers recommended + full web search and much more.

Decent LLM Client

Works fine sometimes, but quite often takes up 100% of the CPU and then I have to kill the session. Please fix this!

iOS app works

I got the iOS version of this app first, and it worked fine with my “custom” endpoint. I use the same endpoint with the macOS version and it doesn’t work. Doesn’t show the models. Doesn’t show any error message. It just… doesn’t… work.

There was indeed an issue affecting the macOS version, and the fix itself was unfortunately delayed due to Apple’s review process. This has now been resolved, and the fix is included in the latest version of the app. Please make sure to update BonzAI on macOS : your custom endpoint and models should work as expected again. Impressive UX and features

I really like the look and feel of this app. Good selection of models, has conversation history, *shows you which models will run great, good, and just alright on your device*. UX design is very good (a lot of devs miss the importance of this). An option to connect to locally hosted inference servers is all this needs - initially 4 stars on this point, but moved to 5 for the UX.

It’s too scared to talk or do pretty much anything that has to do with anything in the news it’s way too controlled and throttle

Stunning work

(My last review was deleted after being commented on for some unknown reason and I use this app daily so I thought I’d just update) after trying this app out for awhile I can safely say it is the most recommended on device ai assistant I’ve found yet gives ACTUAL ACCURATE information with web searches dosent take up too my system power completely on device so no worry about the global impact or data collection 10/10 app only thang id really like too see is a text too speach feature OR voice chat the llms here are so accurate it would work out rather decently

Phenomenal job!!!

From ease of use too the ability too change on the fly the llm easily this is the best local ai search engine llm chatbot I’ve ever seen!!! Gives very accurate results with the more powerful models and dosent heat up my iPhone 16 plus too much! Could not reccomend enough too anyone interested in ai but worried about our planet
